What the hell are you talking about?
It’s about damn time someone fucks up worse than me.
This is less of speculation and more of a hope, I kinda want at least one new weapon. It gets boring using the same set of weapons over and over.
True, they have heaps of unused weapons from the beta that they could bring in, that spiderbomb thing looked interesting.
The beta weapons are pretty shitty & boring. If they’re going to add a new weapon or two, they should take advantage of the game physics.
^ wise man you should be a game developer, no sarcasm.
Take advantage of that which you have an advantage over others and, for source, it is their physics which only a handful of games, even years after its release, could compare with.
Guys just to clear things up. Eli (before he died) when they first saw it kleiner said we could use the technology on on it and Eli said i’m not wakin that damn thing up. Hes talking about GlaDos there trying to use glados as a weapon against the combine and portal is events befor the 7 hour war and there tryna transport glados on the borealis when it disapearded kleiner wants to wake glados back up
You need to learn some basic English grammar. Also, Eli never said anything that remotely sounded like “not waking that damn thing up”
Some theories:
1.The game will start right there ep 2 ended, with G-man talking to you about Eli’s death.
2.Barney will return and probably join Gordon on journey to Borealis.
3.There is slight chance that G-man awakens Adrian Shephard to help Gordon combat Combine, most notably the advisors.
4.Combine assasins may appear,as in Hl2 beta, they there frozen on Borealis.
5.Other locations may include Kraken Base, also from Hl2 beta, which came after Borealis chapter. It may be the place there Judith was in her transmission.
6.A cut creature called Hydra may be added,as its creator said that he would have liked to see it in Half-Life universe and even promissed it.
Yep, almost definitely imo.
He probably won’t join on the journey, but hopefully will meet up with Gordon at some point.
Why do people obsess about Shepard coming back anyway? He’s technically not even a Valve character.
I doubt it. They were cut for a reason, and i doubt that they’d add them back in.
Some base at least, might not be named that though
Nope. They cut it because it wasn’t a good gameplay element and wasn’t really ‘fun’.
Anyways, Gordon’ll go to the Borealis and find something and kill advisors.
Sums up the whole thread mostly.
There were a few new bits of code in a leaked '07 particle benchmark that referenced the hydra, so It’s possible they found a way to make the hydra more fun. (& it will probably also use Portal 2’s paint-glob physics)
I think that Alyx will die, then Gordon gona mad and he kills the freaking combine and g-man boss.
Considering that Advisors have appeared, they will need all the firepower possible, and Shephard is one of the most skilled fighters there are(almost as good as Gordon)(Marc Laidlaw of course strugles to call him cannon, but Doug Lombardi said that he would return),especially that he is in G-man’s service, like Gordon.
Valve is known to recycle things, like Borealis,so,we can still speculate it.
Who knows?
YEP.
Also, watch this footage(I hope Ep 3 looks like this)
Not all of them.OICW is a very good weapon and many would really like if they replace MP7 with it.
And they have already taken advantage of the game physics, remember?(The Gravity Gun)
Also, black hole grenade would be a great addition to Gordon’s arsenal.
Yeah not all alpha/beta things that were cut are bad
Oh, I like that idea!
That’s a terrible idea.
It was basically the same as the smg1, but with an added scope, more accurate & did more damage. It was a good weapon, too good, it’s no fun when you can pick off your enemies really quickly & from really far away, people bitch about the combine being too easy as it is, but that just makes them even easier.
Well, they could bring back the immolator as a chemical sprayer that uses Portal 2’s paint physics, or maybe some kind of paint grenade. There is also bits of unused code in Alien Swarm about a “COMBINE_TELEPORT_GRENADE” which might be used to teleport the player/npcs to the point the grenade explodes at or similar. Really, there are a lot more possibilities than you think.
How? The key difference between the two is one explodes & the other implodes. They had code for it in Episode 1, but they scrapped it because it didn’t work well, if it had, I’m sure they would have put it in by EP2.
Imagine:Combine advisor sucked into a black hole.Priceless! :awesome:
Ha ha, Thanks.
After all these wild, and interesting yet unfounded theories, I’d just like to mark the fact that it’s getting unlikely that Episode Three will be ever made.
I agree with you that Episode Two was not the last time we heard from Dr. Gordon Freeman, but I think I wait until Valve officially confirms it’s next Half-Life game in the first place.
