I don’t think the HL series is over. They can’t end it with Alyx’s father dyeing. I mean him dyeing has no particular necessity or reason in the EP2 plot line, so it has to make sense in EP3. All the talk about the Borealis is also interesting, and is like a teaser, so it would be pointless to not continue that idea.
I’m sure Valve already has the EP3 story, and they already had it when making EP2. EP2 is the only HL game that begs for a sequel. HL1 and HL2 all ended in a satisfying way. EP1 ended with the train ride out of the city, but it wasn’t really a cliffhanger (unless we remember the early trailers of EP2 where Alyx was literally hanging at the edge of a cliff). EP2, however has too many loose ends. There has been too much thinking going on on Valve’s part to just “forget it”. I don’t see why they would stop HL, as it’s got a huge fan base and it’s very famous.
I think we will have an announcement about EP3 sometime in the future, probably within a year or something. I doubt it would be HL3: what would be the difference between EP2 and HL3? The length? In that case, HL3 would take forever to make and it would be nowhere near completion at this time.
Valve said they are moving past the episodic model, but who said they’re not 80% done with EP3 already, and that it’s just the last episodic game they will do? Just because they’re done with it doesn’t mean they won’t finish what they started. It just makes sense.
I just think they’re taking their time.

if GLADOS signed the blueprints of the borealis why its dock is on the old Aperture labs?
Because they hadn’t written Portal 2 yet when they made Episode 2. 
The Borealis dock being able to be seen in Portal 2 is just an easter egg and valve’s way of fucking with our heads
