HL2 Ep2 for $2

Valve propose to us two days deal for Half-life 2 Episode Two. Only 2 bucks for a game.

I found this extremely weird. After 3 years old game why their doing sale now, in a middle of routine week, why only for two days, and why only this particular game? Discuss!

I wonder if the games are chosen randomly.

Maybe yes, but this one is pretty random.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Yesterday I thought “Wow, Half-Life 2 has dropped to a measly $10? That’s pretty cheap for such a great game.”

Now it’s $2 and all I could think was “Who is that going to convince… everyone who wants the game almost definitely owns it right now, especially when it’s the final game in the currently released series.”

But whatever, it’s not like they lose money for putting a game on sale that doesn’t sell.

OFMG IZ OVIOUS SGN TAT EPISOD TREE WILL B RELLEASED TOMOZ

How can you not buy it na0w?

Darn it, I bought Episode 2 for $8 not too long ago! :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s a test.

They are seeing how consumers react and how much they sell/make during these kinds of periods.

They sometimes make more money doing this also. If someone who wouldn’t buy the game at its original price, bought it for 2 bucks, that’s profit.

That’s my opinion at least.

A perfect chance to get the Source SDK Base 2007.

2 days
2 dollars
half life 2
episode 2

No idea why now though

I shat bricks when i opend steam and the first thing i noticed was half-life.
Then i read further episode 2. Disappointment strikes again.

Honestly, everyone on this forum should have this game. Why do we care?

I have it on Xbox 360 from back when the OB first came out, although I already knew about this sale I will be getting this now. Can’t wait to play research and development, that mod has been taunting for quite some time.

Why would you ever buy a Valve game on a console?

Maybe he didn’t have a good enough computer back then.

The 2007 engine pissed me off when it came out. I could run vanilla HL2 with max settings just fine with no (noticeable) framerate problems. Then, during the TF2 beta, I can’t play for more than 5 minutes without the game crashing on the lowest settings.

This is a good deal, though.

No internet, computer that barely ran the HL2, no knowledge of Valve’s community or PC modding, a misconstrued idea of what gaming PCs cost since my mother always bought top of the line hardware (this is of course at a time where I did not have access to her comp or anything).

I would of course never buy a Valve game for anything but PC now but I was ignorant then.

i played thru orangebox on xbox its pretty good except the sucky console tf2. portal isnt much harder and driving is more fun imo

Wow… I can’t fucking believe it have been 4 years since the last Half-life game.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
