The voice actor of Dr.Breen, Robert Culp, died yesterday at the age of 79. I wonder if this will have any effect on the series… He was a very good voice actor whom I liked alot from the half life 2 series.

But even if there is going to be any appearances of Breen in EP3 or any other Valve related game, it wouldn’t be hard to find another voice actor who can do Breen.
They never delayed it, because they never made a “real” release date

Hmm making him appear in Episode Three would make absolutely no sense, and I’m not sure if they intended to make a flashback. Plus, it would seem kind of disrespectful to me to replace him with another voice actor.
He did a great job on the Half-Life series, and even if I don’t remember seeing him in movies etc., I’m sure he was a great actor.

Yeah, I do agree with you, it would be disrespectful, but they would do it if they needed to.
They’ve done it for other things hundreds of times… Like… The Simpsons for example.
Or Slinky Dog in Toy Story 2.
Slinky had the same VA for TS 1 and 2, but for 3, it seems it’s someone else.
That’s why you don’t release an episode of a game more than 4 years after the previous one.

Exactly, Valve knew he will die months before it happens… “Jeez, Culp is gonna die soon guys, we have to delay EP3 and rewrite all the storyline.”… Use your brain guys

It’s a shame, but if Breen were resurrected in some new form for ep3, i doubt he’d have the same voice anyways
Eh? the only major simpsons actor who’s died so far (that I know of) is Phil Hartman, and I afaik they never brought any of his characters back
