Help with getting a new video card

So, I think my GeForce 8600 GTS has finally seen it’s days, and am now considering getting a better board. The question is, what card should I get?

I’m looking for something $200 or less.

Also hoping to run Crysis (and finish it, finally), so I’d appreciate an nVidia GeForce.

I’m not sure on what it would cost for you over there, but a GTX260 will more then suffice for what you’ll probably want to play.

GTX275 should be under $200 over there. Very good card.

8600GTS isn’t that old, you should try overclocking.

I’m scared…

https://www.newegg.com/Store/Category.aspx?Category=38&name=Video-Cards-Video-Devices newegg is having a lot of labor day sales almost all of those cards are under 200$

I think I need a new one, too. My current card is an Nvidia GeForce 6300. I can hardly run TF2 at a decent speed.

You’re considering replacing it anyways. So what if you blow it up, you’re getting a new one anyways.

i beat you geforce 6200 agp :stuck_out_tongue:

I just bought THIS and for you it’s under 200. XFX means you get the double lifetime warranty ( you fuck it up they still replace it ). Plays Crysis rather well.

If you insist on team green then THIS is the only GTX 275 I could find for under 200 bucks and that is after MIR. I wouldn’t drop to a GTX 260, just to be nvidia as the benefits at that point are about null.

9800gt ain’t bad, I think…

You’d think a one lifetime warranty would be enough.

wtf how did this post get on this thread?

if someone sees this that can delete this post please do that

Double lifetime means that you can modify the card by adding a cooler. You can pump over stock voltage, modify the bios, and it will still be under warranty.

God bless XFX.

Redoing the thermal paste on all my XFX mobo coolers keeps the temps much lower, since I have an NForce board, and the NB can get a wee bit hot.

What about Buddhists? WHAT ABOUT THEM?!

You seriously need to upgrade.

He can consider himself lucky. I was running a Geforce2 Ti 64MB until late 2007.

i cant even imagine how horrible that must have been :aah:

What’s wrong with the 8600GTS? Have you tried putting it in your oven?
