Haha man, I had a Geforce2 MX/MXsomething with 64mb until early 2008, that shit was awesome, finished HL2:Ep2 in that crap, constant 15fps ftw.
I don’t get it.
Geforce 2 GTS was the shit back in the day, 3 times faster than a geforce 4 mx.
Also I’ve had the worst PC’s all the way until december 2008 when I moved to the Core 2 Duo.
I had to upgrade from socket 478 to socket 775, from AGP to PCI-E, from DDR to DDR2, from 20pin ATX to 24pin ATX and from IDE to SATA (all at once)
How’d you get it to start? I have a 32 meg radeon 7500 in the laptop and OB games give me a shader error before they start…
I’m sure he was joking, an MX wouldn’t have much of a chance even in regular HL2, let alone EP2.
The geforce2 GTS however, was able to play hl2 totally fine coupled with a dual pentium III board and 1gb of ram…
If by totally fine you mean at the lowest DX7 settings then yes, it ran flawlessly. I remember how I used to envy those who could play it with shiny reflective water and shadows!
Using an eVGA 9600GT (might be super/overclocked… cant remember) and even with the rest of my sub-par system the only thing it cant run maxed out seems to be… drumroll Crysis. go figure. its a helluva little card. only takes up 1 slot too. they go for $100-$120 last I checked.
first actual vid card I got was in the 6’s, or lower. was freaking amazed when I booted up HL2 and saw wood splinters and blood splats everywhere. :awesome:
I win out on you all, bitches!
GeForce 5200 FX
Suck it.
And I thought my old Radeon 9000 was bad. Back in the days I had it with 256 MB RAM and a 1.1 GHz Athlon. I then upgraded it to 512 MB of RAM to play HL2.
Well, like I’ve said, my computer is ancient.
I plan on getting a job, saving up $3000-$4000, and buying myself a computer that’s gonna last at least 5 or so years.
Talk about old school… :retard:
Some of us still reckon old school = 8bit…
