Some concept artists want money for their hobby. Its very annoying, and sometjmes they draw very bad.
Why won’t you guys just sketch it yourself?
The same reason we don’t do everything ourselves: We either don’t have the skills, time or design ideas.
Mainly because some of us don’t got the skills.
And if we did got it, it would be time consuming.
Oh, ok.
You called? :freeman:
Indeed.
Was that a reply to yourself, or a revival of that topic?
I was responding to Dky.
I should probably rearrange that “Indeed.”
Oh. I’ll do it later when I have time. I’ll get around to it.
Some questions:
#1
After the tram tutorial, is it a fade to black or it will lead to Inbound?
#2
Are sprint, flares and anything added by the source engine has a tutorial?
#3
Are you going to add some wonderful things to the eyesight?
ex: Blast Pit - (the radioactive falls), Surface Tension - (the cliffside mountains), On A Rail - (the rocket launch)
Hi guys, just wanted to say that I am 100% behind you on this project and have been very much impressed with your work so far!
There was one point that I wasn’t going to raise, except that as it has been brought up by ysrael214 above me I thought I would. This is the issue of when the hazard course takes place. There is absolutely no evidence that the main game (inbound onwards) takes place on Gordan’s first day and thus on the same day as his hazard course training. There is of course the fact that in half-life 2 and the episodes it is stated that Gordan had been working at Black Mesa a long time before the resonance cascade. But even ignoring that, everyone you meet in sector c labs in the first half-life knows who you are and they act like you are well versed in the insertion procedures in the anti-mass spectrometer. Also you are traveling from your dormitories to work, clearly you are already moved in. Despite all this for some reason so many people assume that it is Gordan’s first day at work, the only reason I can see for this was that there was a poster at the time that the game came out with slogan something like ‘his first day at works going to be hell’. This however is just marketing, with no relation to the actual game. So while I assume you were going to do this anyway, please do not link the hazard course with Inbound or put the course in the main game, have a separate link to it in the main menu. The main game and the hazard course are separated by quite some time.

I know that the time line on the wiki states that it is his first day, a lot of people do think that is the case. But what do you think of the actual reasons I outlined?
At the moment, I’m still thinking about it.
The only thing I can inform you is that the Hazard Course will be in the chapter list, since it would be idiotic to make a new mod just for a little small addon.
No thats fine, I didn’t ask for you to make a new mod, only to do exactly what they did in the original half-life, which was just have a Hazard course option next to new game on the main menu. Putting it in the chapter list is fine as well though.
“So while I assume you were going to do this anyway, please do not link the hazard course with Inbound or put the course in the main game, have a separate link to it in the main menu. The main game and the hazard course are separated by quite some time.”
The end is mainly a suprise, and I can already tell you it wont send you to the Inbound chapter.
I apologise for any ambiguity there, all I meant by not in the ‘main game’ was not have it directly lead in to the other chapters. By ‘separate link’ I meant just having the option on the main menu like in the original, that was still part of the actual game. By ‘The main game and the hazard course are separated by quite some time’ I just meant in terms of in-game/world time.
I am pleased that the hazard course won’t lead to the inbound chapter and look forward to seeing what you do with the ending. To be honest my enthusiasm has been a bit dampened by the unexpectedly aggressive and pedantic reactions to my posts. All I wanted to do was put a post showing my support and mention something that was relevant to this project.
I’m sorry if you felt attacked, I word things sometimes aggresive while its not even intended.
