Hazard Course Remake (AVAILABLE NOW!)

You could always try making a video. It gives everyone much more to feedback on.

A large portion of what they can give criticism or suggestion on is the appearance, which I think screens are more than enough to convey.

It’s really difficult to give suggestions about dev textures though.

Could give gameplay suggestions. We need some of those too.

At one point I ended up expanding the ladder room to about twice its original size because of a comment that someone made on ModDB.

We could also do a bunch of dev discussion here.

The most recent discussion we’ve had is about the train station. We’ve been thinking about downsizing it, since Jeff feels like it’s too much for something as minor as the Hazard Course.

I’m open to the idea, but I’m also open to the possibility of leaving it as it is. I think it could work either way. So it’s up to Jeff to convince me. :stuck_out_tongue:

What’s the current rendition of the station look like?

I personally haven’t checked up on the tram station in a while, but right now it probably doesn’t differ all that much from what you see here:

https://www.moddb.com/mods/black-mesa-hazard-course/images/tram-station

Maybe plus or minus some details. Jeff can probably elaborate for us.

Yeah, that’d be it. The sun is shining in a bit better, but aside from that it’s basically the same.

I’m gonna go through and renovate it a bit in the near future, though.
Well, maybe more than a bit.

Maybe in the end of the flashlight training, the end training would be a switch which would open the door leading to the transition room and also turning the lights on.

Well, you could keep the tram station, instead have it go to a nice modern lobby where you immediately board an elevator down to an obviously lesser populated industrial area and the Hazard Course lobby.

If you were to change the lobby, the way I’d envision it would be an industrial tram station, with a few of those Mat. Trans monorails on the other tracks, and a small tram platform that you’re let off at. It’d be kine like a mix between that rocket room in Inbound, and Blast Pit.

Ugh, but that would mean we’d have to do work.

Interesting thoughts.

Hey, maybe that’s why the Tram training area is there. It could be made to look more like it used to be used for hazmat transport, or at least some sort of materials transport if we’re going to make the Hazard Course look like a converted water processing facility.

In this case, you have to do it (if youre still in charge of the lobby then lol) :stuck_out_tongue:

Will we see trams passing through flooded areas like On A Rail first level?

I’d hope not. If we do, someone in maintenance needs to be fired.

Well it’s always possible to put that into the script… :stuck_out_tongue:

I vote Dr. Lam to do the firing.

That reminds me, we haven’t really told Pasta/Craig/Spaghetti about our little “Dr. [[Team Member Name]]” as actual characters, right?

I do not believe so. Amidst you stalking his past it’s never come up.

XD
I told him about the idea I had, but not any more in depth than that one Skype post.
EDIT: That reminds me, I should get some nameplates going.

Alright, we’ve been keeping this hush-hush until we were ready to make an official announcement, but here it is:

We are pleased to announce Hazard Course: Infinity!

Also, it has come to our attention that Freeman Chronicles has blatantly stolen Michael’s HEV suit design, and we are pursuing legal actions against them.

More info on both can be found here.
