Hazard Course Remake (AVAILABLE NOW!)

Is that first picture a remake of Decay, or Induction, or am I dumb?

No, we’re including the introduction sequence that was only included in the Playstation 2 version of Half-Life.

Nice media, DKY.

Yay media! Looking great so far. I actually reeeally want to play it now haha.

I’d love to see Decay get remade.

Induction, too.

I’ve seen mods fuor them pop-up, not sure if they went anywhere, though.

Love the newest eye candies  But you gotta do something with Gina. She is holding her hands in a weird way.

It hasn’t been properly animated yet. No idles, nothing.

Nice new pics. I like how the entrance hallway looks clean, that’s a good contrast with the hazard course itself. For the second picture, those yellow and black stripes are a good way to highlight the charger inside the room. However, I’m not sure to understand why you added two additional ones on the other side of the guardrail. Even if they are here for show, I imagine that would be unnecessary painful to install them there.

That’s a good point. Hm, now I’m kind of torn between leaving them in because they’re good decoration or taking them out because they’re otherwise of no practical use…

I added them because the wall was awfully boring. If you have a better idea, by all means replace them with something more interesting or get rid of them.

Great work, all. Lighting in particular is looking amazing. However, it looks sort of odd that the hologram stand isn’t wired to any feed. Maybe you could add a wire decal across the floor and to the outlet? Just a suggestion.

I personally think the chargers on the side are a good idea, though I personally would say you should add one more and put glass over them so it looks like they are there to show off the charger’s at different states (have one empty one half and the other full)

Like a display case? That’s another good idea. Though I think since the main one is being used, the states would likely all be demonstrated there. What does everyone else think of that?

This is something we’ve been trying to decide on for a while now. Some of them have thick wires running from them, some have tiny conduit models, I think a couple are even connected directly to some power boxes, other don’t have anything, we’ve just yet to settle on something.

We’ve got a draft, however with the ideas changing as they have it’s a bit unfinished right now. I think we’ve got most ideas set in stone though (freakin’ finally!) so we’ll hopefully have something definitive for you VAs soon.

On a somewhat related note, what does anyone here know about Source engine Choreography? Anyone maybe have experience with that? :zip:

I believe the problem has more to do with the wall itself than the chargers. Maybe it’s the angle this screenshot was taken at, but the gap between this wall and the guardrail looks ridiculously small. Maybe moving the guardrail to the wall would look better, while keeping the chargers.

As a quick suggestion for those labs you see in the corridors (or elsewhere on your maps), maybe you can add in one scientists working on a projector unit, or even what would look like a recording room for the instructors (though that would demand quite some thinking in order to make it look like realistic. Also (and I’m not sure if that was suggested before) if you still have some space left on the last map, I believe a cafetaria after the end of the training course would be a smart addition. We see several of them throughout Black Mesa and placing Sector A’s there would be logic.

When I added the empty chargers, there was no rail or pit or anything. It was just a blank wall that spanned the entirety the room. Crypt did a good job of making the room more interesting than it used to be.

here is another idea put a “poster” showing how teh HEV charger works, though taht would take some art work, would be cool to see a three step poster on the charger.

something like this

step one
Unclip charge hose from charger

step two
plug charger into a port on HEV suit

step three
punch in ID and push the red button.

other info
*the blue bars represent the amount of energy in the charger

*Do not drink the blue liquid in the charger
** if drink the blue liquid seek a toilet, you will be there for a while, then call a medical team

*This charger does not use nano tech stop asking

*do not use charger to recharge power cells, they are not rechargeable.

I’m sure he did. Still it’s maybe just an optical illusion from the screenshot, I really can’t tell how far the chargers really are from the guardrail.

That sounds like an awesome idea.

There’s actually no real gap to speak of, it’s flush with the platform which the rail is at the end of.

The room used to end where the chargers are, that little wall in particular was added so the charges could stay where they were while I expanded the room a bit. It’s kinda goofy, and admittedly maybe a bit hackish as well, but I thought it looked interesting. I could do some reworking if there’s disagreement. Also, it did make me realize that the chargers are too low, I should probably raise those some, huh. :retard:

Yeah, now we’ve definitely gotta do something like this. It’s just a matter of having someone capable of making the sign look good.

The chargers are at the standard Black Mesa charger height, aren’t they?
