Hazard Course Remake (AVAILABLE NOW!)

Just a heads up, I’m 99% guaranteed to not be able to attend the group conference. Could someone post a transcript on the collaborative doc after it happens so I can stay in the loop?

Working on a team without a stable high-speed connection is hard… :frowning:

No problem.

Sounds like we need to elect (or otherwise pick) a team leader, as well as someone to manage the ModDB page. More to bring up during our discussion?

Yeah add that to the TODO list.

Which should be put in the collaborative doc. Cough cough. >.>

What a surprise, it doesn’t work properly on this thing.

Okay, seriously. Box posts, I post, Dky posts and JeffMOD not often, but his internet stability excuses him, so where are the last ones? I don’t recall seeing them Participate in our discussions except once to say “I’m here.” This is where problems are stemming from; a lot of our discussion is on here and they’re nowhere to be found.

Email. At the very least, Lars usually responds to his email pretty promptly. Haven’t tried any of the others yet though.

EDIT: Finally found the time to do a minor update of the basic movement map. I compiled with cordon enabled so don’t be alarmed if you run into a red/white wall at the end of the crouchjump room.

I did some experimenting with lighting and shadows. I think it turned out pretty cool, especially in the crouch-jump room.

Whoa, since when is Urby on the team? Dammit, if this was on the document and I just couldn’t read it, holy crap, I’m gonna throw something. If nobody was told, holy crap, I’m gonna throw something.

He’s not on the document. Unless he’s “Point”/“Head$hot” under a different name.

But seriously, enough with the mappers!

EDIT: I edited Crypt’s news post to reflect that we really don’t need any more mappers. It actually is starting to get almost ridiculous.

Well, somebody invited him (and he accepted) to the ModDB team group. Headshot is a completely different person (I know for sure) and I have no idea who Point is.

Yeah, seriously, we’ve been over this. Too many damn times. All in favor of temporary team addition “lockout?” We need to get this under control ASAP.

+1 Agreed.

Sorry my fault, but I dont know what with do with applicants.
I"m already taking cover though.Point is mainly to help me fix the terminal and to add the 30 sec tramride, and I removed headshot, max due lack of process with no reason.

There’s a 30 second tram ride? Man, I could not be more out of the loop. 30 seconds seems a bit excessive, to me, though. You’d have the player waiting to do the tutorial, then waiting to begin the actual game.

I"ve let friends play a version where it fades out. They said it kind.of looked ugly that way.But Ill keep it if you want.

Um, reiterate and/or elaborate, please?

Guys, it’s okay. I know Urby, he doesn’t map for Source. He does do voice acting, however, and I think I saw him posting to Box about an application to do that, so that’s probably why he was added to the ModDB group.

Crypt: I think he means just have the level fade in with the tram already at the station. Not sure, though.
I think 10-15 seconds would be fine we don’t really need to have a full 1/2 minute, just something to get the point across that the tram moved there.

10 seconds with a “Mouse to Look” hudhint, and when it stops, a “WASD to Move” hint.

Tram ride could still be useful. Just don’t go over 10 or 15 seconds, or it gets kind of excessive.

Ok, I agree with that. The only problem would be that I don’t got any clue where you should start :/.And I also don’t got concept art for it yet. However I can let Point give it a try.

Alright, that seems sensible enough. As for where to start, the distance between the catwalk and the “terminal entrance” should be good for maybe 6 or so seconds. Adding a little bit before that should be more than sufficient.

At the moment its 3 - 4 seconds.
I wont be able to change anything anymore though.
Hammer doesnt work, and Valve messed up the SDK in one of their updates.

Well, whenever everything’s working again it shouldn’t take too much to add a few more seconds worth of tram ride. Even a simple concrete “corridor” type thing could work.
