Hazard Course Remake (AVAILABLE NOW!)

I 100% agree with this except it looks like you somehow misspelled “not enough” and wrote “too many” instead ?(

edit: Also hello I have a real account like a big grown up now

I assure you it will take me a lot longer than 20 minutes to go through this map when it comes out. Pretty much every BM map I’ve played resulted in me going around the map and noclipping just to see the little details (after playing through it properly) haha.
Actually, most of my time on Star Wars Battlefront has probably consisted of me looking out at the huge vistas…

I hope we’ve provided you with enough pretty scenery to enjoy for a reasonably long time.

Wow!It’s gonna be awesome.

Looks very promissing.Maybe Gabe Newell will make Half-Life 1  ecay HD on Playstation 4 maybe within VR?

Definitely. That’s definitely a thing that’s going to happen. In real life.

Why Half-Life 3 is fake to you? It’s compilation of hl2 ep3 and arkane stuios return to the ravenholm?Speaking of Hazardous Course map I’m gonna play it.I hope you’re planning Half-Life 1 Beta or Half-Life 1 Decay Source. It could be fine to play this graphical modification with Tyle McVicker. If he’s present here.I mean maybe he has account on black mesa community here.

Again with this shit?

Super happy you plan on playing our mod, but really man, no one cares to discuss HL3 here, it’s entirely irrelevant.

Guys, as much as some people may have very… strong opinions on completely unrelated topics, I think I’d prefer to keep this thread focused on how awesome the Course will be.

Pretty please? :frowning:

Are you planning at any point to release the Hazard Course VMFs?

We’re considering it, will most likely do it. Probably after or with the Steam release.

And if not, it shouldn’t be particularly difficult to decompile the maps.

tl;dr incoming, please disregard if you are not forum user “TheHalf-Life3”

  1. I literally said nothing about HL3 in what I wrote.
  2. You literally said nothing about HL3 in the post I was replying to - you said “maybe Gabe Newell will make Half-Life 1  ecay HD on Playstation 4”. My sarcastic reply was because Valve has literally never done a remake of a game, and most likely never will (yes I realize remakes like Monkey Island have been published over Steam by other developers, but not by Valve). Moreover, for Valve to revisit the least critically and commercially successful entry in the Half Life franchise when gaben has already said they aren’t going to be making “super classic” titles of this type without extreme justification would be extremely stupid.
  3. This thread is about the Hazard Course remake - which by the way is absolutely incredible, and you’re going to love it. I’ve been playing through the RC builds every day, and it just keeps getting better. Everything that I’ve seen that was even a little rough around the edges is getting a finely graded sandpaper polish. I’m very hopeful that I’ll get to work with the guys who made this again on something else - regardless of what it is. If they keep working together, they’re going to make some even more amazing things in the future. That said, can we agree to not talk about software or games that might possibly be written by other teams at some potential date in the future in this thread? It’s completely irrelevant.
  4. It would be really cool if Tyler (VNN) saw this, and his channel is fun - but it’s unlikely that it would be relevant for him to report on. This isn’t made by Valve. Also there’s literally no reason to bring him up. He’s irrelevant to this thread.
  5. Why am I even replying to this? It’s just going to fuel more irrelevant discussion.
  6. I can’t believe we still need to train people on how to use forums.
  7. You’re probably going to enjoy point 6 a lot more once you’ve played the game.

I’m just glad our work at polishing isn’t going unnoticed. I knew plenty of people will find something b0rked or manage to break something, but hopefully by now the average player won’t really find anything. A lot of the last week or so has been polish, polish, polish.

Especially the Vital Testing Apparatus bug. Holy hell that took a good all-nighter to figure out and hack together a fix for that.

… Which sucked, because in the end the fix was really simple.

Meanwhile my biggest contribution to RC4 was literally just moving an overlay up 64 units.

RC4?

Release Candidate 4.
Basically it’s a build that could potentially be considered final provided nothing huge pops up. We’re rolling out our fourth (RC4) to our testers this morning.
