Happy Birthday Half-life!

Great now I can finally buy the best mod ever made great job Black Mesa team! I also thought you might be porting Black Mesa to a new engine after all the problems with the 2007 source engine. I can’t wait for Xen even though it probably won’t be out for another year or two, It’ll be worth waiting for though.

Does this mean you can use the “Source” suffix now?

Great question! I can’t wait to hear the answer…

pay this game, free or not???

Try reading the original post…

Maybe the original post is not very easy to understand for people who don’t know English that well.

Easy answer:
2 versions
One standard, free version
One better, low-cost version

Or maybe “Half-Life: Black Mesa”

Also, it would be cool if the first Half-Life came free with BM, or maybe if there’s a deal for the combo.

It would be better if Valve would remove HL: Source from the Steam, putting the blame on Black Mesa, for über-awesomeness.

Fantastic news, congratulations Carlos et al! I can’t believe it’s been a little over 9 years since we started BMS, it wouldn’t have got this far but for some dedicated devs! Enjoy your success and some well deserved reward!

Jimmy

Considering how I had anticipated HL: S and subsequently how disappointed I was in it, I hereby second this motion to replace HL: S with HL: BM.

I like to imagine their inhumanly fast reaction times were because they’re competitive Team Fortress Classic players in their free time. Also, quick question to the development team. I understand if you can’t answer this question (it’s Xen-related), but since it isn’t about entirely new content, I hope you could answer it. The question is this: are the soundtrack songs that didn’t appear in-game in the first release (the original mixes of Black Mesa Theme, Office Complex, Blast Pit 2, & Apprehension) gonna be used in the Xen levels?

“We will be paying careful attention to feedback” you know people will ask for “uncut” and “loop” mods to be officially added.

Loop I don’t know. It seems to be more divisive; the team’s reason to heavily cut the chapter seem to gel with the community in that respect. However, people do believe they cut too much, so I do indeed see a lot of people asking for “On a Rail Uncut” to be added, probably (it has the missing scenes without adding all the loops back; or it does, but in a more interesting way.) “Surface Tension Uncut”; I don’t know about that. I loved it, certainly, but there was a greater amount of reimagination going on, I think. People will probably understand easier that they don’t add that into the game.

Anyway, we know their official position. We might’ve to help them spread the word. I doubt people just asking will convince them to definitely put it in.

Woah, a real blast from the past!

:3

Indeed this is amazing news. I have held off playing BM, waiting for Xen. Once I’ve bought it on Steam though, I can’t see myself not launching it immediately!

Oh, and whadup bitches?

Where the heck have you been, man? Good to have you back!

Talk about a blast from the past!

Whoa! You’re still alive?

Get out of here cunter :stuck_out_tongue:

Heheh, I’m all at once flattered and disgusted that one of the mod founders pops up and barely attracts a notice, but I post shortly after and am greeted like a returning rock star.

Good to see you all.

Except you Keresh, you smell. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh shit, it’s the Raw Barn! Everyone hide!

I don’t recognize denzil’s name. Sorry.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
