Happy Birthday Half-life!

This is pretty much the opposite of the truth. As much as I love them both, there’s a much more pressing need for STU than there is for OARU.

look at all the dinosaurs :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember denzil’s name from when the Black Mesa Source community basically comprised of a ludicrously long thread on the Steam forums, and I was an interested lurker.

ST would’ve been longer if not for complications so that’s true, but frankly I think Black Mesa is incomplete without both. OAR uncut feels like the journey it’s supposed to be.

yeah, I’m totally with you on this guys, I understood the need of the Dev’s to shorten them, but the ST Cut was really immersion breaking for me, not solely because of the bugged Gargantua AI. But I don’t know what’s all the fuzz is about. Even when they won’t implement them in the game, I’m sure with a probability of 95 % they will implement OARUncut and ST Uncut either in the Steam Workshop or to an outer source, so you can upgrade BM to the full experience.

I really hope they actually implement it instead of going with the workshop solution, though, because the workshop solution will discourage normal players from getting the real experience.

We all want it, and devs know that. So it all depends on whether or not they want to please us. Do not think it’s that difficult to add and they have already said that will not bring legal issues.

So still no info on the date and price of the steam release?

Probably none they are able or willing to provide as of yet.

For Valve this means they don’t need to make the game itself anymore on the new engine, but they just use the mod with extra assets as the new and improved Half Life.

So for Valve this means they don’t need to put their own artists and devs on it…, so cheapier to use this mod as game

And it could be a welcome excuse for valve to further delay any new game of the HL universe and think about more cosmetic additions to pre-existing games that players will pay transaction fees for on the market place.

G’day.

What about Oculus rift “official” support in steam/new_non_steam versions?

Then why does the Nihalinth have shackles on his arms? The voritgaunts also have shackles on their arms and neck. In Half-Life 2, I think VALVe made it a pretty big point to include a scene where the Combine had installed the same shackles on a vortigaunt in Nova Prospekt. Another thing that stands out to me about the Nihalinth is that the bottom half of him has been merged with some type of technology, similar to the way the Combine does with their slaves. He also has large stiches on his belly. Based on all these things, I always assumed that the Combine took control of all the Xenians and used the Nihalinth to control an invading army on Earth.

IIRC Nihlianth was a combine slave before escaping.
The he figured “Hey, if they can do it to me, it’s okay if I do it to the vorts, right?”

cough (Nihilanth)

Might be wrong but I think rift support is in the newest Mod SDK.

Finally they’ll take my money.

I can’t wait to spend money on the Steam release! I’m so excited!

Fixing & Balancing, the best remake ever created. Ok, they really deserve to get paid.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
