Hands up who REALLY wants the Cremator to appear in EP3.

You apparently have a third hand stuck in your arse.

Actually, not plasma. It’s a liquid with corrosive proprieties, which “eats up” organic tissue.
And no, the cremator doesn’t fit in EP 3. Cremators on the Borealis are like Scrabs on Mars (copyright)

The sound files used for the Immolator(the flamethrower) are:

  • plasma_burn.wav
  • plasma_damage.wav
  • plasma_ignite.wav
  • plasma_impact.wav
  • plasma_shoot.wav
  • plasma_stop.wav

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess it’s plasma.

I’d like violent stalkers or at least some variety in zombies. I thought the fast/poison zombies could have been equally fine as just regular headcrab zombies, except fast/fat.

Cremator is cool but he’s long gone.

i think the stalkers might freeze if left in the cold too long. :frowning:

Probably because plasma is a lot easier to remember and type for a file name than “liquidwithcorrosiveproperties_burn.wav” and “liquidwithcorrosiveproperties_damage.wav”.

That was a pretty bloody good come back. You deserve a medel Doc.

So the ones deployed in City 17 were a bit friendly for you?

Needs maor female combine assassins imo

It would be interesting to see the Cremator in the episode 3, with a redesign to look more combine. They could alter it’s purpose from the original idea of it being a janitor to something that clears the ice. It could even be a combine soldier that carries the immolator.

The what?

I believe the cremators lived under City17 and came out at night to clean the streets so the citizens didn’t get frightened. But that’s my opinion.
I would not be surprised if an attack like the cremator’s proposed attack style turned up in Ep3, change the organic matter melting goo gun to a ship hull/ice melting tool.
The cremator itself, i don’t think should turn up again. Because of the resulting style HL2 ended up as (Less dark), the cremator belongs in some kind of quake mod.

I don’t know why people keep saying that “the original” HL2 style was darker in style, it really wasn’t. The only real differences is that the concept art also showed what City 17 looked like at night, With an entire day cut from HL2 it was never seen at night, but the old version also had a number of elements that were much sillier and less believable then what was in HL2.

The flamethrower. It’s called “the immolator”

You fail dias.

The original storyline was much darker in story, not just luminescence.

The combine had a brutal propaganda campaign, created arcade games for children which were actually just remote murdering devices, children were set to work in slave factories bulding cremators and other killing machines, and the citadel walls were literally eating the city consuming everything, much more so than in hl2.

The combine were replacing the air with unbreathable gasses, stealing the earths resources and draining the oceans.

Breen found his way to immortality by being a head in a jar, Alyx was brutally murdered by Breen towards the end of the game, the wastelands were filled with xenian creatures and portal storms, resistance was mopped up and the bodies were basically deleted, and the stalkers were set loose on the city with their scythe like arms and laser eyes.

You fought huge synths from the 7 hour war, the half human half machine combine guard, the absolutely merciless combine assassin, the brutal combine elite with active camouflage, kliener dies in the teleport mishap, the rest of the resistance has to hole up in the farthest reaches of the world, the arctic, and is then assaulted by a huge combine army.

And that’s just part of it.

EDIT: The only elements which were silly were maybe the manhack arcades and the breen in a jar.

These are still in the game, and how is it “much more so than in hl2?” You can tell that just from concept art? Do you not see the entire buildings being totaled by the walls or what?

Alien overlords converting men into cyborg soldiers, but turning women into leather-clad cyborgs with thigh-high, high-heeled boots and skin-tight suits. Oh, that’s so dark and not hilariously stupid at all.

Nothing says brutal like your alien overlords putting up even more [b]evil posters.[b]

Actually, they always depicted adults controlling manhacks in the arcades, and the idea borrowed from the 1992 comedy “Toys” starring Robin Williams. Because we know he’s suck an evil mother-fucker.

Instead of rebels being inslaved, crippled and hardly mobile, they are made into slaves, crippled and can run around like crack addicts, while wearing gimp masks and armed with metal claws. Because what good is a slave if they can’t stab shit?

No, they were just from HL2, and were cut. Because they sucked.

How exactly is this any of this shit darker? Sure it sounds neat, but it’s not dark.

What the hell does this even mean?

Funny, none of the leak sound files indicate either of those were ever planned at any point.

Child labor is the darkest thing that was cut from the game. But damn if it isn’t fun to watch.

ADDITIONAL BONUS STUPID :
the borealis carrys pods containing the female assassins, because for some reason they’re not made the same way as regular soldiers, and need to be kept floating in vats of goo.
If only a wall of text could kill.
A large chasm with a catwalk over it, where people work as stenographer’s all day. The evil alien overlords need people to type for them, or make them do it just to be dicks.
I love when people don’t reply. It makes me feel like I’ve won.
A building designed to suck the water and atmosphere out of the earth. (Weather Control)
A separate building, miles away that pumps a new atmosphere into the earth. (Air Exchange)

I never really thought of them (after reading raising the bar) to be enemies, but basically street cleaners, they show up after a fire-fight and get rid of any bodies. Just kind of NPCs you don’t want to mess with.

Like metro cops at the beginning of the game. Sure, you can induce them into beating the shit out of you, but why would you want to if it’s just going to slow you down? Also, yeah, I did it too, get them to chase you, then book it away from them and barely escape.

the beta had a better story and setting.deal with that.

Don’t be such a tool.

Regardless of your personal feelings on the beta story, you know it’d make for a great mod.

the Borealis isnt really going to be in episode 3, there will be a borealis in episode 3 but theres not a chance valve is going to use very much if at all of the content within hl2b’s borealis
