That does not mean those who take sides but respect the fact that opinions can differ and so do not try to win converts or argue a pointless idea that one is better than the other.

Anyway, if I WERE to argue and think it over as realistically as the universes allow it, the Master Chief would NOT want to fight Gordon so arguing over who would win in a fight is pointless. The Master Chief would win anyway, so again the argument is pointless. The rebels would undoubtedly prefer to have Master Chief as their lead fighter than Freeman since the Chief is practically a highly-mobile tank who acts as his own cover, and Freeman would more than likely be glad for the break (nobody ever said he LIKED being shot at by Combine!).
Seemed like Halo sort of paved the way for FPS games on the console. That’s all I have to say, I’m sorry to those who want this to die and then people like me post anyway. 
That is true. It did revive FPS for console and it did kick-start the Xbox line.

halo did nothing revolutionary, in the 90’s there were a few console ports of games like doom and wolfestein and others that did not get the recognition or commercial success that halo did. So basically it is trying to say it did something first when a generation ago there were console fps games that were not as popular but regardless on the console

Goldeneye vs Half-Life
Goldeneye: Did nothing to revolutionize the genre. It is as generic as a FPS can get. It is only beloved because of nostalgic memories of being a child and playing it. And, as we all should know, kids are stupid.
Half-Life: Awesome game with great atmosphere. Revolutionizes storytelling in the FPS genre.
Let’s see why I hate Goldeneye as much as people here hate Halo…
Bad controls: At least the XBox controller had the decency to have TWO clickable joysticks and comfortable button placement. The N64, however, has the worst design layout ever. Plus, you’re never really aiming the gun. The auto-aim literally does almost all of the work for you! Sure, many console FPS games today have a little bit of auto-aim, but Goldeneye’s is just ridiculous. But you need it turned on because all you can do while aiming is move the camera around Left and Right. The only way to free-look is to hold down a button, but the camera doesn’t move the the reticule, and you can’t walk while in this mode.
Bad Gameplay: Just shoot everything. You can play stealth, which is cool, but the AI is awful! One time I walked up to a guy behind a computer, I was in what would be a NORMAL person’s line of sight, but he didn’t do shit! I shot him in the head and just laughed.
Also, the friendly NPC AI is garbage. Remember that level where you had to escort that chick in the blue dress and red hair? Worst escort level EVER! She didn’t even TRY to take cover.
Yeah, I know this is just the N64 we’re talking about, I’ve seen better AI in DOOM.
Multiplayer: I can’t say if this game’s mutliplayer is good or not, since my friend quit playing within 3 minutes. But from what I saw, it just isn’t that impressive to me. There were plenty of good FPS games on the PC that had great multiplayer (wasn’t Team Fortress 1 for the Quake engine released at the time?) As an added bonus, most of those games had ONLINE multiplayer.
Again, I know this is just the N64.
Hype: I can understand why people liked this as a child, since it was probably their first FPS and they probably had fond memories of playing multiplayer with friends. That’s cool. Thing is, Halo was my first FPS. and I have fond memories of playing multiplayer with friends. Neither games did nothing to revolutionize the FPS genre, but we all loved our respective overhyped FPS game for the nostalgia, and even today these games can be fun to play.
That’s all fine, but the hype for Goldeneye is just as bad or maybe WORSE than Halo! (But, you know, without the marketing.) It’s hailed by many people as “da gratest fps eva!!!1!!1!!”. This is even said by people who hate Halo, even though Goldeneye did about as much the the genre as Halo did (ie, nothing.)
I’m not saying anyone who likes Goldeneye is a “fucking faggot consol pussy lol”. If you like the game, that’s great! I’m just trying to make a point to any Halo-hatin’ Goldeneye fans.
