halo vs half life

this thread is basically about your opinions on the games
halo = did nothing to the fps genre as a whole
half life= underground hit is revolutionary

There’s already a thread for this

really? in which section of the forum? this one or the tech and gaming section?

Halo VS Half Life has been flamed to death in the following threads:

I think both are highly entertaining and fun, and I like their stories. Both games are wacky as fuck and have excellent soundtracks.

Don’t encourage this by posting coherent, logical posts. Just let the thread die.

How ironic.

Halo: walk down endless repeating corridors in endless repeating buildings for about 6 hours while killing the same enemies the same way for no apparent reason. (THAT LEVEL RUINED MY LIFE).

HalfLife: walk down endless repeating corridors in the same building. With different coloured walls. And crates you can push. And a crowbar! And zombies who sputter, spout red and green blood and fall to pieces when you whack them with said crowbar!

I think the library was supposed to piss you off and make you hate 343 GS to make the following cutscenes and levels have more impact.

I thought it was brilliant, really. Not the level, but how they used it.

And Halo may not have done much for the FPS, but Marathon sure as fuck did. So many people ripped off marathon since it came out it’s not even funnycoughanvilcough. When Halo came out and was a spiritual sucessor to Marathon, it’s ideas had already been picked apart so much.

I’ve never played halo 1, but the Half-Life series and the Halo series are both spectacular and extremely fun. I like both but I prefer Half-Life, mainly because it is for the computer and has a lot of mods. But the Halo3 multiplayer is the best I have ever played. (I’ve never played cod’s multiplayer but I hear it’s really good)

Never played Halo and I don’t plan on playing it anytime soon, One reason is because I don’t want to got to vista for halo 3.

I think the OP is a total kiss-ass.

…you know what. What do you people gain from this? What do you gain from these dick fight threads? So what if people like a game you don’t like?

I mean, we have a consoles vs PC thread, there’s that whole thread dedicated to people shouting “omg infinity ward is now a consol developr lol consols sux lol!!!11!!1!” Jesus Christ!

Can’t we all just accept that we all like different games? I mean, I don’t like Crysis, but you don’t see me posting threads about how much I hate it. And you know what, I don’t see anything revolutionary in Goldeneye 64 either (which many call “da bestest fps eva!”), yet I’m not attacking anyone who likes it (unless they’re just being dumb.)

But, I know you’re all just fanboys that need to pick on “the enemy” in order to bring some satisfaction to your otherwise dull lives. But really, isn’t that what PLAYING video games are for?

If you really like Half-Life so much, why aren’t you playing it instead of attacking people who like other games? In fact, if I like Halo so much, why am I defending it instead of playing it?

Edit: Also, I like how the OP, who was saying shit about Halo, put in almost 900 hours into Halo: Custom Edition according to his signature.

Fanboys will be fanboys. You can’t stop it. Its human nature to always try to win instead of just live together. Plus, if you want to avoid useless threads, it helps to stay out of this forum section.

John I don’t see many people being dicks in this thread, it just seems like you’re trying to put gasoline on a fire that is manageable and quite entertaining.

Huh, I didn’t actually read most of the thread. You’re right, this is logical and coherent, and entirely unprecedented.
