Halo: Reach VGA Trailer

Halo reach better be a completely new game, not a bunch of recycled shit from halo 3 or else im not spending $60 on it. So far it looks pretty lagit. I hope they ad alot of new gameplay elements to the single player and the multiplayer. I dont want halo3 with a new story line and a few new multiplayer maps. Lets be honest, didn’t we get that with ODST? yeah they tweaked the gameplay a little bit, but not much was new. Definitely not worth $60

I think bungie has a great opportunity to surprise everyone and revolutionize first person shooting if they play their cards right. I really hope they aren’t going to pull a valve card and print money because they know that they can. cough L4D2.

Laziness is plaguing the gaming industry! Between nintendo and this L4D2 bullshit and ODST. We need a dramatic revolution. I just hope Halo Reach can resolve this.

Silence Valve non-believer! L4D2 was and is awesome.

Wait, I just realized you expect Halo to revolutionize something. That is just sad. The only thing Halo has ever done to gaming was brought FPSs to consoles.

Let’s see:

1.) They have already said it’s a new game.
2.) ODST was advertised as an “expansion” to Halo 3.
3.) The $60 price was not Bungie’s fault.
4.) Fuck you you boycotting retard!
5.) “Pull a Valve card”?! If by that, you mean make awesome games, then yes, Bungie will pull a “Valve card.”

Whilst my interest in the Halo series dips close to somewhere around zero, there’s no doubt that Bungie will make a quality game, regardless of whether or not Reach shares gameplay similarities with previous entries.

So you have no intrest in Halo yet think/KNOW Bungie will make a quality game?

You know what, now that I think about it, I have lost intrest in Half-Life, Grand Theft Auto, and Metal Gear Solid, but I’m sure all future games in those franchises will be great!

[/sarcasm]

Sorry, but I fail to see your logic.

It’s hard to explain. I enjoy playing Halo, but it doesn’t grab me in the same way other games do. I was being a bit facetious when I said ‘close to zero’, but I do recognise solid gaming when I play it. I just don’t take the series as seriously as others do (I’m not saying that’s a bad thing).

Its not like Bungie could release a “bad” Halo game. There are too many people who would defend its quality for it to be considered bad, even if it does suck. But I suspect that it will be just like the others, i.e. mindless fun.

Yeah, Halo is overrated, but being overrated doesn’t mean it sucks (it’s actually the exact opposite of “sucks.”) It just means people are a bit too enthusiastic about Halo (see: IGN.)
People just need to step back and look at their favorite franchises in a different perspective.

How fucking high rez are those textures?

Jesus! look at the guy’s forehead! All those tiny scars.

NO OTHER GAME has anything that detailed. Not even Crysis’s cheap Halo 2 noise filter pores.

yeah, the switches between motion capture and keyframe animation is seamless too. The movement still has that pseudo realistic/ Tex Avery tone to it. I like it.

What’s with some of the textures though. It sems they’ve made some small details TOO black to where they look like outlines. Maybe I’ve just been playing too much borderlands.

Well, looks like you’re obviously excited. Just like I am.

Man, I can’t wait until the beta!

Well, I’m not excited about the fact that it looks like they’re taking their story even more seriously.

The game, meh, not too excited for it either since I imagine it won’t do anything new unless it does something drastic like bringing it to the PC.

Yeah, because making something for the PC AUTOMATICALLY makes it worth giving a shit about. Since, you know, consoles are for fags who still suck on their moma’s titties.
Yeah, fuck Metal Gear Solid 4! It’s only on the Gaystation 3 so it must SUCK lol!
[/sarcasm][/SIZE]

Was that really needed?

No. I just like to be a douche.

I’ll reserve judgement on Reach until I hear some actual reports on gameplay etc. I do like the idea though, prequel and what not. Also for posterity: Halo = Great. Halo 2 = stinking pile of shit. Halo 3 = Average. Halo Wars = Epic if you like RPG’s, if you don’t, you’re not gonna like it. Also, cut scenes were fantastic, and if a movie were to be made, just let Ensemble render the whole damn thing. ODST = haven’t played. :frowning:

So yeah, Halo’s had its ups and downs, but overall the experience has been ok.

Dude, I like Halo no need to be a douche, I just meant that if they made it for the PC, or some other drastic change, it might give us a new Halo experience.

But yeah, just keep pretending to know my intentions.

Halo=This was actually the first FPS I have ever played, so I have fond memories of it. So I say it’s awesome!
Halo 2=Good but not great
Halo 3=In between good and great. It’s just too safe and the story is disappointing. But multiplayer is still epic, even if the maps aren’t as imaginative.
Halo: ODST=The singleplayer is kind of how I wanted Halo 3 to be like. The story was well told, but the music and nighttime levels were just beautiful. Walking the streets of New Mombasa, in the dark, alone, no longer the biggest badass ever, on Heroic, while Marty O’Donnell’s brilliant score is playing, is one of the best game experiences I have ever had. Also, Firefight+Pistol=EPIC!
The only problem was that it just isn’t a full game, and thus not worth $60. But I have no regrets buying it, even if I already invested my hard earned cash into most of the DLC.
Halo Wars=Never played it, but the demo was fun and my friends say they like it.

But I like to be a douche.

Hmm, I was harsh on 2 on a bit, still it felt like they released an unfinished game filled with bugs just to appease the fanbase. Not on, imo. Would’ve been better had they delayed it, combined 2 and 3, and just released that instead. Along with fixing the bugs ofc.

Halo Wars is massive fun, but the achievements can be damned hard. :fffuuu:

I dislike how JohnMiller117 makes me dislike Halo’s fanbase.

What?

Man, there are so many great games coming out next year I can barely keep track! Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2, God of War 3, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and now Halo: Reach!
Hopefully my wallet won’t be abused too much, lol.
