Half-Life 3 Probable Storyline

Yeah thats probably more realistic and i already posted that gordon trys to find out who the G-man is as a story line a couple pages ago…:fffuuu: lol no worries idc

thats why i canged the story to the end of ep3 just make that whole fight thing that i did a few posts up and make that the end of ep3… (not hl3) and it would prolly leave people stunned like the end of ep2 left me after all the striders… exspecially the g-man saving you and alyx miliseconds before the planet self destructs…

you did say u liked it =P

Maybe Ep 3 ends with Gordon getting shot in the face twice, so he dies. In Hl 3 he is ressurected 100 years later, by a now succesfull black mesa east.As you wake up you meet Alyx’s Grand, grand, grand, grandchild (Barney fucked Alyx). The offspring has ressurected Gordon to kill a Alien, set on the moon, by finding the portal from witch the Alien sends aliens (It should look like the brain alien from starship troopers). When it dies you [COLOR=‘LemonChiffon’][COLOR=‘White’]wake up

That is the awesome.

that is pretty cool but i like my idea… and they prolly wont end it with gordon dieing cause some ppl will think the franchise is ending or gordon freeman is ending unless u give a hint that he is ressurected at the end of EP3

Well maybe they’ll end with G-man saying ( with a dark screen): “I am sorry that you will have to leave us, Mr. Freeman… But its not permanent.”

hmmmm… lol nice thats good if that happend at the end of ep3… all i think id say would be WTF… and then id HAVE to go out and buy HL3 rather than buying it just cause i like the game lol

I don’t think there should be a Half-Life 3. However, it would be quite difficult to wrap up the entire story in HL2: Episode Three.

why? i hope (not likleyly) they go up to like HL5 if they keep making the game this good. HL3 will probably end the HL franchise though but EP3 wont wrap up the entire story… jsut some of the HL2 story mostly, then HL3 will prolly finish it

That is the main problem. Too many sequels tend to wash out a franchise.
Just look at Alien: the first two movies were gold, the third was ok and the last one… I don’t even want to talk about it…

True, but given the awesomeness of Ep2 and Portal I’d say HL games are still on the upward trend and we’re a long way off needing to worry about them getting stale or being poorly made cash-ins.

how do you exactly “end” the combine saga , and still make it interesting enouth to make a game about gman [hl3 that is] , hl ep 3 will most likely take em both at once , as the gman said [not in these wards exactly] " you will find out what’s going on in a matter of … i’m not really supposed to tell you" that means that you will find out before he puts you to sleep again, before the combine arc ends.

First off, none of this “lol lets invade teh combines” bullshit. Theres no way a rabble of grungy hobos with tiny machine pistols is going to be able to take down the Combine Empire. Earth was a fluke, as it was a tiny Combine outpost/colony; it was like America beating Britain in the Revolution. The Americans didn’t launch an invasion against Britain, as they would have lost. Heck, even when we grew an army, we couldn’t even invade Canada! So whats to say that some bums, even with Gordon’s help, would be able to defeat the Combine and their synth legions.

Now on to the real discussion: I’m hoping that the resistance finds an old military warehouse undiscovered by the Combine, granting you new equipment and vehicles. Using your new crap, you mop up the rest of the Combine on Earth and finish off the Advisors. I also want to fight stalkers, crab/mortar synths, and the “undressed” soldiers.

EDIT: I wonder what the excuse will be when you start up the game and have no weapons.

Gordon Freeman, one man, took own the Citadel by himself. I think he can take down the entire Combine. Right?

You people have to think on a LARGER scale. The citadel, while huge and menacing by our standards, was the Combine equivalent to the county mayor’s office. The Combine have only been on Earth for about 20 years, and most of their forces were Overwatch troops, who are likely one of the Combine’s weakest synth units. The actual empire is much stronger.

Plus Gordon had a blue grav gun.

Sorry, but my point I am trying to get at is that Gordon’s always underestimated. Yes, the Citadel is but a fraction of the Combine as a whole, but there is no telling how much Gordon can destroy.

Because Gordon has destroyed so much.

After Alyx’s dead dad is dead, she goes to the Borealis with Gordan, by tripping balls and going there on a flying carpet. After this, they fight LOLZOMBIEGHOAST and they all die. Then, John Freeman leaps out of the air, and repeatedly dry humps Alyx! Then, Combine come out of nowhere, and shoot John Freeman dead. Then, Gordon finally says his first word, “Dam u cumbine! u keeled mah brotha!1111oneone” And kills them all with his one handed pistol. Alyx eventually dies for no reason, and the Gman appears, and takes Gordon with him into stasis, and takes Gordon away for his own sexual gratifications. Thus, delaying Half-Life 3 for 7 more years.

M’eh, nothing to say that a massive quantum singularity isn’t powering the Combine’s portal technology, whereby Gordon has to infiltrate the heart of the Combine super-generator (usually works best when operating alone) and destabilizing the anti-gravity field, ending off with a spectacular race against the time dilation and watching the heart of the Combine Empire sink away into the event horizon.

I like that it’s basically the mirror of restabilizing the Dark Energy reactor in Ep. 1 exceptto a far more vast degree.

Just a theory.

Btw it’s late and my (quantum) physics knowledge is hazy at best.

P.S. this sounds more like something for Episode 3 as the Combine are supposed to be done with by Half-Life 3.

Oh shit! I thought this was an Episode 3 thread!

Anyhoo, wouldnt it be impossible to invade the combine home-whatever since the portal was closed in Ep2?

Only Episode 3 will tell. cough Borealis cough

Personally, I’ve got a couple of ideas that would seem to fit.

Firstly, don’t kill Alyx. Generic killing of main characters isn’t the way to make the storyline work. Agreed it worked with Eli because it seemed as though we were about to find out a lot more about the Gman and other elements with the story. So killing Alyx off would just show us that Valve are running out of ideas, which they’re clearly not.

I’d like to see something a little more down to earth, in the sense of Aperture Science. I mean they’re supposed to be Black Mesa’s rivals and the only thing that ties into the storyline so far is the appearance of the Borealis and that eerie message from GlaDOS, “I’m the only thing standing between US and THEM”. Could GlaDOS have been more key to the story than we know? Most probably, but we’ll have to see. Either way, I think there’s a lot of potential for HL3, if it’s made, to link in with some previously unanswered questions.
