Half Life 2

I just got a Dell laptop with Windows 7 and an Intel i3 processor (I think that’s what they call it) and every time I start a Half Life 2 game, it says that my drivers are not in the list that Valve has. It does this for EVERY Valve game that has the source engine (TF2, HL: Deathmatch, HL2, Hl2’s episodes) I have uploaded the details, and HL2 is the only game that does not start right. It will start sometimes, then if i quit and get back on, it has skippiness from HELL. You can’t even choose a menu to access. The other things work fine, with a little audio trouble on Episode 2. I just want to know why HL2 does that, I don’t really need details on how to fix it. If I can figure out why it does that, then I should be fine.

And for all the trouble I may have given those with my spelling errors, I apologize. It WILL NOT happen again. Thank you for your concerns and comments.

And it isn’t that I do not take my time, it is that my hands are slightly large for the keys. Therefore I often hit the letter next to the one I want, or I shorten to make my painful typing time.

That and I don’t think all my keys work… but enough excuses. I am sure most of you don’t really give a damn anyways…

have you tried the games on another computer?

It physically hurts to read your posts.

this

bro i think u should just download the latest drivers for your laptop off nvidia.com instead of your laptop’s company make sure u choose the right video card thats in your device manager display adapters

I doubt D3LL would use an ATi card but if they did get the drivers from ati.amd.com

And if you see Intel Extreme Graphics forget about gaming altogether.

Yea and they work fine, and the other computer is like 10 years old

ummm why? or are u just being a jackass?

I think he talks about your spelling. Including the random smileys.

Your posts would be a lot easier to read if you’d avoid making really long sentences and paragraphs longer than 2-3 lines (i.e. leave a blank line every 2 or 3 lines). Also, using a spellchecker to avoid mishaps like “duznt” instead of “doesn’t” would greatly improve the readability of your posts.

I couldn’t agree more. I stopped reading after “duznt.” If you are too lazy to spell and type correctly, then we’re going to be too lazy to bother helping you.

:hmph:

Maybe he meant dust.

The smileys happen randomly, in regular words.
Deathmatch, for example, was a smiley, and it wasn’t supposed to be. And I am not always in awake when I do these. Its a bad habit. Im still trying to break that. That and I am a clumsy typer and forget that the posts have spellcheck.

On these forums the amount of respect you get from others goes right up with good writing (in my experience at least), though people are tolerant if you’re from a non-english speaking country it’s still best to do what you can to type well.

As for your problem, you should make sure you have the right drivers for your graphics card as suggested by Sersoft. If that doesn’t work then a few more specifics about your laptop would be useful, like what laptop it is for example.

It doesn’t help knowing your processor, when there is something wrong with the GPU.

i lold

apologize.

OH FOR GODS SAKE! > :frowning:
I’ll go fix it… > :frowning:

lol, real rage right there. Don’t worry about your spelling that much though, as long as it isn’t obvious people wont really care, and if they do then they’re dicks.

I know what the problem is. Dell sucks. I have never owned a good Dell computer, laptop or desktop. Toshiba, Sony, and HP suck really bad also. The only good computer I have ever owned is the ASUS desktop that I’ve got right now. If you just got that laptop, you might have time to return it and get a computer that doesn’t suck.
