¿Half-Life 2 graphic improvement mods?

I’ve been lurking throw this forums for 2 years now but never registered.

I wanted to make a new play through Half-Life 2 and its episodes and asked myself if there were any mods out there that enhanced its graphics somehow. I mean, theres a clear graphic improvement from HL2 to EP2 and always wondered why valve didn’t updated HL2 to make it look like EP2.

Well, if you know any mods or addons that fits into my description it would be nice for you to mention them :smiley: .

Cinematic Mod, but most believe it detracts from the experience.

Indeed. I played and it does so don’t download that mod it’s a waste of time.

I never tried it. Didn’t want to waste over 10GB of bandwidth to be disappointed.

There’s this mod, which puts it on the Episode 2 engine and adds achievements, but there are a few bugs with people’s expressions etc. Although apparently there’s going to be a new version out soon that’ll fix all that.

Fakefactory’s Cinematic Mod 10 Light Edition. Same character HL2 character models (except for the Ep2 Vorts), but drastically improved textures, lighting, and so on.

Does the light edition also change the music?

Does it change the modelling too? Because the sombre coastline fitted perfectly, CM10 gave it bright yellow beaches, clear water, all that shit…RUINED the atmosphere.

I don’t use Cinemtic mods, I use like, a set of environment and character textures that he did years ago :stuck_out_tongue: and some HD weapons off of FPSbanana.

Nah man, that’d take years to make. You’d never find a team willing to waste so much time on a mod.

If you get the orange box on 360 half-life 2 has HDR and achievements.

Of course, this entirely depends on if you like the 360 :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s HL2 Update, that’s already been posted, then you install the texture updates into the HLupdate files.
