Yeah, it is. That mod (HL2update) adds certain Ep2. textures, but some in that screenshot, noteably the weapon, is from a seperate update/

Here is already mentioned cinematic mod version 10

I have been using it and prefer it to vanilla HL2 with regards to the environments, weapon models, and gameplay. My biggest gripe however, is with the optional HD character models, but only because some do not possess a “half life feel” or fit the character of the voice acting. The quality of the models is great, but IMO the artistic direction if questionable.

If you are looking for a graphical improvement to HL2, definitely give Cinematic Mod a try.

You made a mistake. Prepare for all deep character’s credability to be ruined due to shitty rigging and slutilization. Also the music is fucked up too.

I didn’t know there was an ENBseries setting for HL2.

99% of the configurations you see out there are painfully SHIT. But if it’s done right, it can be very effective.

Well now I know what you guys where referring with the whole “questionable artistic direction”.

What I’m looking for is something that improves stuff such as textures, lighting, models, etc. Not new models, levels, sounds, etc, that give the game another feel. Stuff you would expect valve to improve if this was EP3.

That’s basically what Fake Factory does. They just fail. You could try the light edition. I still haven’t downloaded it but if it just altered the maps then it may be worth it.

I’ve used the cinematic mod 10. Although it improves the lighting and weapon textures, there is not much else to it. If they had spent more time looking at a variety of music rather than the same bland soundtrack it would be vastly improved.

Or just leave the soundtrack and not fuck with anything that’s crucial to immersion.

But yeah, there’s an enb series for Hl2. Adds ambient occlusion and bloom. You can turn the bloom down/ off (as you probably should. Nothings worse than bloom on top of bloom)

You best bet, right now, is still probably the light edition of Cinematic Mod 10 (replace environment maps only). Than you could probably find acceptable HD versions of the character and weapon models from other sites.

None of the Cinematic Mods have achievements do they? Or am I misremembering? If you want achievements HL Update is your best bet.
