Haha GMod for Mac. I can already see the fancy “artists” publishing their GMod “masterpieces” on Deviant Art.
you mean like PC gamers already do?
Yeah, well, but it’s only true art if it’s made on Mac, duh.
I was under the impression that Garry’s Mod already used the OB engine.
Not that I care, I never use it anyway.

Could someone post a screenshot of ± the same view as this one, but from the Windows version (with yesterday’s update applied)? And in case you don’t know: it’s from HL2, early level when you’re running for the first time from the metro cops.
(want to see how HDR is for this on Windows, since I have a feeling that the HDR in Mac is buggy/random (it works, but only in some places or specific occasions)
Bolteh, not a single form of HDR (bloom, tonemapping or special textures) was added to HL2. So if you see anything that may look like HDR is mostly from your imagination.

@Sersoft - use impact font. For great justice.
I don’t use Mac. It just wasn’t as good as Windows or Linux. They had better features for me
here
Hmm weird, I would’ve guessed they HDR’d the shit out of HL2 while they were at it. Ah well.
Cheers for the screen.
They didn’t even bother recompiling the maps, which is needed for there to be HDR. What made you think HDR was added after playing the updated HL2? :fffuuu:
Dunno. I read “improved graphics” in the update, so I figured they’d apply all the latest effects to the older games… Turns out they did, apart from HDR, which is sad, because the HDR in Source is one of the better ones out there these days :< (imho)
I thought they would’ve implemented HDR as well… but then when I played it it was so very obvious they hadn’t fully implemented the new shaders and there was no tone mapping or bloom.
Actually, they did include HDR in some chapters, like Black Mesa East or Highway 17. Dunno if there’s more levels using it.
The flashlight in HL2 seems to use HDR as well (but it doesn’t in Ep2 for me :<)
Tonemapping works on a level basis, actually, so if a certain level doesn’t have HDR worked into it, then you won’t see tonemapping.
But if you’re referring to the shadows, then you don’t know what HDR is.
Nope, not the shadows.
I’m talking about overly bright/glowy light spot on walls/models when using the flashlight. that changes bightness depending on the angle/distance.
In Ep2, this is just a lit up spot without the glowy stuff, and itdoesn’t change brightness at all when moving around, just the same standard lit up sot, much like how it was in HL1.
