Grand Theft Auto V

I’ve never been able to get Icenhancer to work. It’s always looked like garbage.

And besides there’s only so much you can do without having access to the game code and without mod tools. I’m actually amazed at what people have been able to do with GTA4 since it’s lacking both of those but still.

Dang.

Tempted as I am to download, GTA already doesn’t run so well on my PC. :frowning:

i tried running icehancer and enbseries at the same time because with just one of them the game still runs way too fast on my laptop 300+fps :frowning:

How. It generally runs 100+ on my computer but it drops down into the 40s at points. I know you need (or needed) to downgrade to use Icenhancer, does downgrading improve performance that much?

pretty sure it does

but i also turned godrays to low and fps skyrocketed for me
u can also turn off DOF for more fps

OpenIV is basically the mod tool you’re looking for, it allows you to mod IV, V, Max Payne 3 and probally any RAGE game in the future
i have to say ice 3.0 looks better than any ENB i’ve ever seen (probally because it isnt just a recoloring of shaders)

turn off AA and DOF to kill off the blur

Well I’m talking about vanilla GTA4 so there are no godrays or dof. I suppose I’ll have to try downgrading.

Right now I’m just using a timecyc mod so the air isn’t brown and gray. RealismIV or something.

never drops below 100, my laptop also plays watch dogs beta leak without stuttering and gets through black mesa in one play through without a single crash

Is your game downgraded? Also what are the specs?

I’m running the latest version available to pirates and my specs are very mediocre…

except for the thermal paste, which is not available for consumers, in fact my friend’s dad said that grade is only meant for the computer chips inside of satellites, so instead of normal operation(1.6ghz turbo 2.4) it’s usually stuck at 2.8Ghz on all 8 threads and temp stabilizes at 90-94C(depending on ambient temp). Also the 6xxx series Radeon inside is oc’d from 500 to 700Mhz on stock voltage. :stuck_out_tongue:

I know that turbo boost is supposed to downclock the rest of the cores while overclocking the main one for short bursts, but in my case it’s confused by the thermal readings and all 4 cores stay at 2.8 for as long as the task demands it, which is beyond the specified turbo frequency anyway… I even tried intel’s own turbo boost monitoring software to make sure, so it can’t be a bad reading from the task manager…

I also tried V 1.0.0.4.0 but I like the shadows in the latest version better (much sharper)

I have no idea how you’re getting better performance than I am then.

Where exactly did you get aerospace-grade thermal paste?

my friend’s dad worked for air-canada and bombardier, he built airplanes, but he got laid off not long ago as his job was replaced by robots

obviously when I run out of this stuff there is no source for more, unless I can disguise myself as a robot and put myself in between the robot that manufactures it and the robot that applies it onto the electronics inside of the airplane

sorry for offtopic

If it’s as good as undead nightmare, then bring it on.

Has the author of that article been living in a cave for the last decade or two?

it would be cool if they made DLC that introduced a new island which would encompass San Fierro and the Las Venturas deserts

That would be nice

Before we switch pages I just want to clarify that this post was a lame joke on my part and my laptop is in no way fast enough to run icehancer 2.0, sorry for the confusion.

I’ve seen Garry’s Mod addons that do this sort of thing. This is GTA though, and that’s big, so we need some outrage.

Edit:
I should probably clarify, I’m not saying I approve, just making fun of the fact that this will probably garner some heavy attention despite not being unique.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
