It can be pre-loaded on Steam now.
It’s happening, guys.
Quick, someone get a quantum computer to brute force the data out so that we can all fucking play the game?
Downloaded it this morning, also hoping some people can scrape the data and find some interesting shit.
Also, 59 GB…
Damn near took me 2 hours to download!
I believe it still would be missing crucial files, or even the executables, to make the game work.
I fucking wish I could have downloaded it that fast. I set it to download overnight and at the time I write this post is still at 63%.
Yeah, holy shit, man. I set it a few hours before I left for work, probably won’t be half done before I get back.
Edit: It has been going for 15 hours and still has 23GB to go.
So, it’s out now.
Haven’t gotten my copy yet, since I’m not done exams. Wonder if the EB in town has any physical copies.
I bought it against my better judgement because while I don’t like Rockstar I do like GTA. Still need to pin down what settings work well for me. Considering my framerate almost halved driving through a field with lots of grass I guess maxing that setting out is too much. I’m also getting some weird stuttering that I don’t know how to get rid of. I’m not exceeding my vram (have a 970 so I’m also trying to stay under 3.5GB) so I don’t know what could be causing it but someone needs to fix it. Seems forcing vsync through the control panel lessens it but it’s still there.
Seems there’s tons of settings, some of which I don’t even know what they do.
I have played the singleplayer portion of the game for about 15-20 hours or so and have to say that so far this is the single most detailed open world game ever made PERIOD!I mean nothing comes even close…It’s just staggering…really.
I also like how most of the side missions/activities are seamlessly integrated into the story and the world itself something that a lot of other game developers have yet to learn how to do properly…one of them being Ubisoft with it’s tower unlocking/collectathlon open world formula that I’m really getting sick of.
Been also playing for around that time, and having a blast, bar the one showstopper bug where using a grenade causes the game to crash at any point afterwards where you pull out a gun while driving or switch characters over a large enough distance to trigger the zoom-out.
Even on the low graphics settings my computer can barely handle at current specs, the game is realistic enough that hitting pedestrians quickly encouraged me to improve at driving so that I… don’t do that.
Unless it’s a mugger or a bike thief. Fuck those guys.
I got lost in the subway/sewer systems for roughly half an hour, and it felt like it was designed to be its own level. It really is incredible.
I also found myself strangely compelled to walk around for blocks instead of driving, and stole incredibly few vehicles compared to the other games. I think for the first 15 hours or so, I stole less than 5 total. This game is a failure in the grand theft auto department.
I think I heard some people saying you could ragdoll on command by default on the console version and you can still do it on PC but it’s kind of limited. You have to jump and press r.
First GTA I’ve ever played and value for money/replayability, it’s worth every penny.
Very few games, except maybe No One Lives Forever, have me laughing out loud like this one, especially Michael when he’s larking around.
Looks fantastic, smooth as you like and the scriptwriters nailed it. A must have.
How could you have never played a GTA game before.
Same way I didnt, I guess. Never had much of an interest in it until we saw what Rockstar had done with bringing Los Santos to life.
I’ve been gaming since the 90’s and watched the mayhem, running over grannies and being a hood and stuff, but it never really caught my fancy.
But now GTA has reached such an incredible level of gameplay, I simply had to try it.
Possibly the best video game I’ve ever played and like everyone else, will get months, if not years of entertainment from.
In fact, here’s my review of the game from April
