Grand Theft Auto 5

They did fix it though (which is more than a lot of games can say), GTAIV preformed fine for me after the patch allowed me to scale down the reflection resolution.

On the topic of GTA5 getting ported they have blatantly said Red Dead is never coming to PC so who knows, its up in the air.

they could have done better, san andreas is playable on an atom netbook with intel GMA 950, while GTA IV is unplayable on a core 2 duo laptop with geforce 8400GS or a dual core desktop with a geforce 7950 in SLI

Yeah, they could have, but it’s still perfectly playable. I can max it out and it plays perfectly.

You can max it out with max draw distance and everything?

sure but the random pop in bug is still there on max distance and detail dist.

The current game 1.0.7.0 wrecks performance.

Using an older patch I can get great performance out of gtaIV

Is there a way to downgrade on Steam?

noep. Either way, when you DL a game off of steam, you don’t DL V1 and get patched up, you DL the latest version. If you got GTAIV recently, you can’t downgrade.

Either way, it doesn’t really matter to me. Runs fine. ICenhancer works alright too, the red sky glitch doesn’t even happen that often.

Wrong. There is.

But cba to find it right now. I’ll go take a shower and I expect Kairouseki to have linked it by the time I get back :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll look for it. Also, is there a way to uninstall Icehancer? It really makes my computer lag and I forgot to make backups D=

edit: Found it

Icehancer puts shaders and files everywhere, it’s a bitch to uninstall well unless you made backups. Someone should make an isntaller/backup tool for enb mods, they’re so damn compliacted sometimes…

If you’ve got modded cars, copy those files out (vehicles.wtd, carcol, handling, etc), then re’verify with steam. That’s what I do, as I only have car mods and enb

Yeah, but

I technically could’ve before, but it has a built-in “line” based on your GPU’s available memory so you can’t turn it up past a certain point unless you have 1-2GB

I think I’ll keep it acutally. It was way to funky and laggy with 1.0.7.0 but with 1.0.4.0 it’s pretty good.

How about we wait for GTA V to come out.

AND DISCUSS THE PROS AND CONS THEN.

I hope it goes back to the whole ‘silent protagonist’ thing from GTA3, and comes with a create-a-character thing.

Installing any mod will turn that off and you can do it through an ini file.

How about if you don’t like speculation you can leave and come back when we don’t need to speculate.

How so?

Brown games are games too!
