Got a Quick Suggestion? - Small suggestions that don't need their own thread

who cares , it’s a game , they can call an pink banana george if they want to

Yeah, but let’s not.

Apparently you care, seeing how you made two posts about it being a gauss gun and not a tau gun :retard:

End of argument right there

Hilarious freaking video.

OH SNAP!

What are you, new? coil guns have been around forever.

still staryn’ at the comerials above…

This is a very small idea…

Giving limited Ammunition to the Cannons you find during the urban combat areas. Possibly even having to find ammo before you can use them (for example the Tank turret you use to blow open a door of a warehouse).

I feel limited ammo would make the game a but more challenging at that point as opposed to getting carried away and just spamming explosions in the general direction of the Agrunts/Hgrunts.

Limited ammunition might make something more challenging, but that doesn’t mean it’ll make it more fun. Spamming explosions all over the place was most of the fun of it.

Hello everyone.

I figured this idea didn’t need it’s own thread as it’s not gameplay changing at all.

Now, throughout the Half-Life 2 series, there is a certain couple that you see sitting on a couch all the time saying “When is it all going to end?”

They have appeared in Half-Life 2, Ep1, and Ep2. I forget where they appear in Ep1, but in HL2 it’s near the beginning and in Ep2 it’s in the Silo Base in the room where you talk to Eli after Alyx gives her “message” to him (it’s before this part, just look through the window).

Now, I thought it would be kind of neat to have them show up in Black Mesa somewhere. Obviously after Black Mesa goes to hell.

Thoughts on this?

You’d think they would be too busy hiding from the hideous aliens or getting to the surface or something.

That’s what I kind of figured…

But there are always scientists just standing around…doing nothing.

It would make it more challenging, and challenges can be more fun, but it could be more trouble than it’s worth. For someone who’s never played the game before, they could waste all of the ammo trying to figure out what to do.

And as for finding the ammunition, I would imagine it’s stored right next to the gun, to be readily accessible. There are some areas on the surface levels where you can’t backtrack if you accidently miss the ammo, and it’d be rather game breaking in some areas if you do.

Would be nice if these guns had this big ammunition “belts” thing, shaking when you fire and stuff… And there’d be an infinite supply box near it where you can grab some and reload it once in a while.

While it seems like a good idea to me, it still seems like it’s more trouble than it’s worth to animate, code, etc. and changes gameplay more than it should. But it’s up to the Devs to decide, I just won’t be surprised if they don’t include it.

I’m not expecting it either :stuck_out_tongue: It just would be nice.

Just one problem: The Resonance Cascade incident happened 20 years before the “When’s it going to end” couple sat on the couch. They’re not that old. They’re probably, what, 10 or something during the events of HL1? I know that there are children at Black Mesa (the G-man ‘plucked’ Alyx from there), but do you think they’re all in a school or something?

Girl: “When’s it all gonna end?”
Boy: “Ewww, cooties! Girls is yucky. I want a vortie, daddy!”
Magnusson: “Shut up, kid.”

I think we’re talking about a recreation, not the exact same couple. I mean… I doubt they’re the same couple in HL2 (two times), EP1 and EP2, so they obviously wouldn’t be in BMS.

It’d be a good… easter egg of sorts. Forshadowing what’s to come. One of the huge caracteristics of HL2, the main reason the game is known… the couple.
