Garish colours and a furry from some RPG doesn’t constitute stunning.

I not only seen it but I own it. The laser sequence was horribly unrealistic but some what comical.

for said subtle reference I was thinking maybe as the player leaves the room with eli & kleiner in it, eli is heard saying “dear God I hope my alyx is ok!” or something like that.
That’s about as subtle as a sledgehammer to the face.
Not really, a sledgehammer is more personal. It’s like the difference between drowning someone in a barrel of piss and pissing into their lungs.
I was just making an example and saying that you really can’t take yourself seriously so much.

Also, I can’t see how you could piss into someones lungs either. It would be easier for a guy, but there’s always the risk of the drownee going all Andy Dufraine and biting it off.
Also I think Eli would be rationally worried about his daughter now that, you know, all hell has broken loose. As you leave him, it might make sense for him to mutter “Dear God, let Alyx be alright” It would just be a single line of dialouge.
This is pretty offtopic, but I have to say that a quick stab wound can grant you access to any internal organ.

Why would Eli/Kleiner be concerned with Alyx’s safety? I don’t think that it was bring-your-daughter-to-a-top-secret-high-security-lab day.

It could very well be that Alyx lived in one of the dormitories of Black Mesa, seeing as Eli Vance worked there full time and all… They probably wouldn’t let employees at a top secret government facility keep their family outside of it and just go see them whenever. They probably made the family live with them in the facility.

But yeah, in the picture at Black Mesa East/White Forest, Alyx is a baby, and it can’t have been that old a picture at the time. A baby girl having a part-time job at a cafeteria vaguely reminds me of Family Guy.
If you listen to the tram I believe it mentions that there are dormatories(living quarters). I am pretty sure she didn’t work in the cafeteria. Eli and his family probably lived in one of the dormatories thats why she would be there at Black Mesa. However I don’t see why this guy wants Eli or Kliener to mention her so bad.
He wouldn’t need to worry, clearly there was a responsible daycare center for Black Mesa employees.
At the time right before the Resonance Cascade, I am under the impression that the Vance family lives topside, but on base/property. G-man’s comment about “plucking her from Black Mesa” meant that base/property itself, not the actual research facility.
With the immensity of the research facility itself, topside living could consist of a small military-like town.
