You know what, what he said makes a lot more sense. Forget what I said. :retard:
This is further backed up by the fact that Barney Calhoun catches the tram from a topside station into the facility.
you clearly know nothing/very little about Half-life, no offence.
alyx lived in the residential areas of black mesa as a baby with Eli and Azian, who both worked at black mesa. that should be common knowledge.
oh and to the javid: think about it, if some catastrophic event that endangered your family including your baby daughter, besides yourself, you’d probably be a little bit worrried about her/them wouldn’t you agree? and I never said anything about kleiner saying it? who made that up?
God that was a perfectly reasonable suggestion and everyone seems to think it makes absolutley no sense? it makes perfect sense?
OH SNAP.
I wouldn’t be so sure. Eli did tell Gordon to “get to the surface…and tell them we’re trapped down here…” It is possible that Eli, at the time, thought that the disaster was contained to just the test labs and control facilities (or just the sector/research facility itself); that his family that lived topside would be safe.
After all, if the disaster was localized, perhaps no one that could do anything about it would know about it until it was too late. Otherwise, he’d tell Gordon to stay where he was until help arrives…especially weaponless (at the time).
(Great. Now I’ve got a scene in my head of Eli handing Gordon a crowbar saying, “It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this.”)
Again, this is all baseless speculation as, at the time, we know nothing about anything regarding the Vance household and the state of it at the time of the RC.
I mean, the mods don’t want to break the universe by introducing new elements that might be revealed in another game. If Azian was a gun-packing maniac, in conjunction with the fact that “help” can arrive more easier to the surface than below, perhaps Eli knew that Alyx would be safe.
Who knows? There could be a scene in Episode 3 where Alyx talks about her mother. Adding an element to this mod which contradicts the events in Episode 3 simply because you want a reference to the second Half Life game might not work.
If there are references to HL2, then they need to be subtle and vague as to not break possible continuity.
This.
In HL2 Eli explicitly says if you look at his family photo that the photo itself and Alyx were the only things he managed to bring ‘out of Black Mesa’. That was long before we heard G-Man take credit for ‘plucking her from Black Mesa’.
What? How else are they gonna die? Someone with a punctured lung can survive fine for a long time, unless their lungs fill up with blood(or urine) and they drown. Unless you used like an axe or something and they died of blood loss quickly.
Oof
I don’t even know who Azian is. I’ve played through the entire Half Life series (minus Blue Shift + Decay) and I don’t recall any information about Alyx as a child.
I haven’t anything against your idea. It was a good suggestion.
Azian is/was Eli’s wife and Alyx’s mother. When you look at the family photo in Black Mesa East in Half-Life 2 Eli says “You remember my wife Azian don’t you? That photo, and Alyx, are all I managed to get out of Black Mesa.”
I don’t remember that… I’d have to mess around a bit more in his lab
@Ram, this^.
oh, thanks for the comment on the suggestion.
still I’m suprised you never heard about Azian or Alyx’s childhood it’s talked about all the time? and there’s the photo? did you follow the storyline? and how hard were you listening to dialogue?
First you would have to make a big enough incision to get to the lung, puncture, and leave enough room for liquid to get in. Plus the time of managing to get the gap right for you to get enough urine in.
I do see your point though, but why are we still talking about this?
I would like, if the different zombie types would have different armor and speed.
For example the security guard zombie should take more hits than a scientist zombie (because of the vest). Also it would be nice, if zombie soldiers would be able to run (like the Zombines from the HL2 episodes).
If the Guard zombies still had vests, how could you see the open chest?
Zombines only could run because of the cybernetic implants in their bodies. I don’t think biomechanical upgrades are a part of the Black Mesa health plan. But I do like the idea of making the guard zombies tougher. I think that already occured to the devs though.
All the zombies will be exactly the same. Except for the way look.
This person speaks the truth.
This doesn’t stand to reason when one considers the Fast Headcrab Zombies. These guys don’t have any implants, or much of anything at all but they are much faster and can leap buildings! The reason the Zombines run is undoubtedly an excuse to make them a tougher opponent and to make the grenade more effective.
However if you asked me I’d say they can run due to the Overwatch Soldier’s physique, which is a bit better than your average half starved citizen.
Fast zombies are fast because they have less to carry.
