Gordon's Feet

I think thats dangerously close to a flame post and probably deserves at least an infraction. How about that?

Mirrors Edge had perfectly acceptable (exemplary, even) player physics and worldmodel feet that virtually every player except for you, including virtually every professional game critic, thinks drastically improved gameplay immersion. I hate to repeat myself but the fact that you keep bringing it up ad nauseum as an example of how NOT to implement feet, when it was in fact one of the most successful first-person player model implementations in gaming history, makes your opinion null and void. And the fact that you resort to blatant trolling and personal attacks does not help your case at all.

hey, is this tone of voice standard here?
but you are right. it would indeed be better. dark messiah did that right, too, if i remember correctly. (it’s right, i like this game…)

Absolutely. It’s what makes this forum great…um, er, its what makes this forum what it is, anyway.

I HAVE A SUGGESTION!!!

crypt, would you like to share it with us, then?

mattemuse: indeed, it’s quite special.
but on gabe’s love tub they communicate only in sexual terms, so…

eeeYup…

Hate to break it to you, but no one on this forum really wants to stand up for you.

Yes… the forum is getting increasingly hostile and everyone is at each others throats.

Here’s a hint, don’t be a douchebag fucktard to people and they won’t turn into to douchebag fucktard. Unfortunately that’s what keeps happening. I feel myself transforming :frowning: … HHGGGGNNGGHHH… :jizz:

FUCK YOU GUYS YOU ALL HAVE SHIT OPINIONS :rage:

Yup, and thats why i like the fact that its over the internet. Makes it 100x easier to ignore it. But most people can’t ignore it…

this. I’m pretty sure its in the TOS. It’s not about “standing up for” anyone, its about following the forum rules regarding civility so that the forum doesn’t turn to total shit.

I’ve always viewed the forums as being this way. Are you new here?

IMO awareness would be a good addition to hl, i feel that it would add to in game immersion because of added realism that has little effect on game play. However i don’t think that the technology for this to be implemented without minor annoyances which would break the added immersion is here yet. Maybe in a few years on the next version of the source engine. But in the end it is simply a visual enhancement and i would always prefer to see time spent working on game play then effects and graphics. Realism and graphics in games is already good enough to not be game breaking and will probably not be taking as huge leaps as it used to, and i would like to see new inovative game mechanics then awareness.

Bahaha, I should make it my signature…

Well, it would be nice to see the player’s feet. I think Halo’s Master Chief can see his own legs, that’s what I remember from playing it (perhaps I’m wrong). Also, I think it would be nice to see the Freeman’s hands when he picks up something.

Oh, hey, you revived this topic without bringing anything new to the conversation!
I hate you.

Can someone explain how such a mundane topic became such a long thread? It just seems impossible.

People don’t read all the pages. At most it’s the first and last. Everything in between is repeated constantly because no one reads it before posting. And it keeps getting revived by schmucks who do the same thing. (same can be said about almost any topic on this forum)

That’s how.

I think I drank some water back in City 17.
Excuse me.

13 pages long? Seriously!?
Who gives a fuck if you can’t see your feet? It’s a First-Person SHOOTER! Meaning 99% of the time you’re looking forward and killing anyone who’s dumb enough to step into your reticule.
What, do you want to shoot yourself in the foot?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
