Gordon's Feet

I agree that it would be cool to actually have a real first person view of the world, including your own Alter Ego body and shadow. Loved how Thief 3 did that. I wonder what it would be like to actually see Gordon holster his weapon and grab the ladder to climb it. Or push a button with his finger. Or override an opened security door lock panel by messing with the wires, holding them in his HEV-gloved hands. Or watching him step on a cockroach. But sadly, this is not gonna happen. At least not in Episode 3, and probably not in the next Half-Life, either. It’s just too much work to do it, I think. Too much work for a neat but not necessary effect. The game will get good ratings with and without the feature. It will sell adequately, whether or not you can see Gordon’s body. So why should anybody bother to work on it? Still, it would look damn cool…

They’ll add it. Nobody is really against it, it’s an easy thing to add to their new Source engine, and we can finally get a good look at Gordon’s sexy thighs.

And you know this how?

Doubt it, cos of ladders and shizzle.

Exactly.

Did you take the time to read the rest of my post?

Sure, they’ll take some time out to create an entire new set of animations and some few hundred lines of code to implement something that wasn’t even in Half-Life to begin with.

some few hundred lines of code

oh yeah because legs totally weren’t in the left 4 dead source version herp a derp

Because Left4Dead was part of the Orange Box version of the engine, of course.

You are aware of the fact that Left 4 Dead uses a different version of the Source engine, and isn’t moddable, so they wouldn’t be able to get the required code anyway, right? :retard:

It may be easy to add legs, and a view model body, but it adds too much unnecessary crap. A side from having to create the body, then people will complain about not being able to see the body’s shadow, and reflections, and the hands as they pick things up.

People will always bitch about idiotic crap, once one ‘problem’ is ‘fixed’ a dozen more will pop up. Rather then worrying about something that doesn’t mean two shits of a difference, they’re probably worrying about how to make the game good. Something Valve is known for. (& more Mod-makers should learn a thing or two about.)

This arguement is moot, as gordon has no legs anyway

PROOF:

Bah, I can clearly see where you photoshopped, Mister. Faking evidence is baaaad behaviour! You might wanna apply for a government job.

EDIT: Hey, I’ve just noticed I’m a Houndeye already! Yay!!! Now I can jump around squeaking and zapping people! Wohoo! squeak

Ugh, it’s so damn obvious.

LMAO ^^^

This wins a lot!

^Gordon is either ten feet tall, or everybody else is just miniature.

I dunno, I can see Gordon’s hands and feet just fine.

dark messiah mod?

It’s Smod. And you only see the foot while kicking. While holding a weapon or looking down, it looks retarded. Like the rest of the mod.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
