Gordon Freeman Speaks in HL1?!

I found this, and… well, discuss.

Someone need to check his ears, that’s all.

It’s
“What is he doing IN there”
not
“What is he doing UP there”

no

Lol, I figured I’d get this response. Yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s just another scientist too, but it’s good enough to post.

no it wasn’t.

we have had this thread many times before

Well, I’m sorry. I wasn’t aware. :frowning:

Probable theory: Another scientist enters the safe-room of the testchamber and asks the OTHER scientist ‘‘What is he doing in there?’’. Now, this Gordon could hear, and so knows the scientist, so he kind of silences the other scientist who asked the question by interrupting the question, and by comforting Gordon with ‘‘Heh… nothing you need to worry about, Gordon’’. By saying that, he means ''Don’t worry about it Gordon, you ARE supposed to be in there, don’t listen to scientist name here.

Well?

Completely irrelevant

Sounds about right to me.

Nah, I stand corrected, It’s a fact. Gordon doesn’t talk, who would ever believe such a thing? lol

But its WHY Gordon doesn’t speak that we should be discussing. We all know that the devs don’t give him a voice because they want you to get the sense that your in the game. Hwoever, why is it, thinking from the characters perspective, that Gordon doesn’t talk? Is he mute? Tongue cut out? Child hood abuse? WHAT?! Discuss this!

The player speaks for him. You assume the role of Gordon. If you think Gordon talks, he talks.

I’ve always liked Freeman’s Mind for that reason. You can hardly differentiate between his thoughts and what he’s saying aloud.

You guys are looking from an outward point of view. Imagine your a character from Half-Life. Why would you think the hero doesn’t utter a peep? Thats what I’m sayin’.

But Gordon can talk as evidenced by the offer of employment letter. He just doesn’t speak to game characters for the duration of the games.

fuck this peace of shit.
