To be honest I simply hate the animation style, the whole anime style looks like shite to me, add the well-known crappy anime series like Dragonball Z and you see why most people hate anime. I’m sure there are anime series out there with better stories and characters, but I just plain don’t like the art style. So it’s not just some of the shit stories and characters, I just don’t like the whole genre.

And yes, there are many western cartoons that are shite, there are good, shite and meh examples in any form of media, whether it’s books, television, radio or games.

I just don’t like it when people can’t acknowledge that they can atleasts see some effort went into creating a series like Samurai Champloo (Not aiming at Bolteh here, just some people in general). Not liking the art style is whole different story.

Garth, did you check out the ones that I listed? And yes, there is not just one anime style, though many anime (normally the ones that suck) go with the one that’s become stereotypical these days. And to anyone looking I would never suggest the anime as they always tend to mess things up, always go for the manga.

And to anyone that says that they don’t like manga or anime, go try Berserk. It truly is a work of art in a sea of mediocrity.

I’ve tried manga, but I’m not very into it. I’m not very big on the “fight club” style animes either, which I think are the ones you like (not that there is anything wrong with it, I just personally don’t like that style). I’m really into animes like Death Note and Code Geass. I might try Beserk.

What do you mean by fight club? Anyway, Berserk is fantastic, and while it does have fighting the story is the priority. Though you’re not going to get the full experience watching the anime, as it stops pretty much at the climax of the story. Monster is another excellent one, and the anime does the manga justice.

Monster is more psychological and not centered on fighting. It’s about a doctor who saves a child instead of the mayor of the town and the decision haunts him for the rest of his life.
