That was pretty good. Another to add to the watch list.

that trailer blows…
Also Farm 51 just made a remake of Painkiller, so not exactly Painkiller devs?
Anyway, I hope the next trailer is a bit more informative.

Farm 51 has some of the devs that worked in People Can Fly (the original creators of painkiller) though.

really? didn’t know that.
Considering that their PK port isn’t very good, the whole movement and damage feedbacl is quite worse than in the original.

Holy shit guys, this game looks beautiful.

the only problem I have with it is that it uses “expansive, real-life scanning to achieve photorealism”, which I guess means that it will only look amazing as long as it’s used to make real-world environments, anything sci-fi will have to be hand done, and therefore won’t look as amazing. At least, that’s what I’m getting out of it. And the environments in Painkiller were amazing as fantasy settings.

btw, there is already a thread about this, like 5 posts below this one: https://forums.blackmesasource.com/showthread.php?t=17407

They can always build sci fi environments in a stage and scan it.

edit:

Threads merged.

the environments are probably not even shaded, it looks just scanned, so only shading the characters and a few objects makes it far easier to create realistic lighting, mainly due to the budget you have more now that you don’t have to calculate any env shading.

There’s dirty lens effects and then there’s “someone sneezed on then emptied a bag full of dust and cat hair into my camera” effects

That makes Battlefield 3’s dirty lens look clear in comparison…

Well, it’s a very vague teaser. BF3’s and 4’s teasers were also quite vague that way, full of exaggerated effects compared to the actual game.

Schmutz on the camera is to make it look more “real”. True facts.

Also, lens flares.

25 bucks the protagonist is a white male with very short hair
