Geographic Map of Black Messa....

ok ppl i always wanted too see how big is the black messa… i loocked in google for it but i dont think i ll find it any time soon… it would be great if ayone helps me…

An overview of all Half-Life maps put together. Of course the whole facility is certainly way bigger than that

thanks its great… do you know if there are included BS and OP maps ??

Where’s the dam?

Here, hiding under several layers of other maps. That’s how HL1 was laid out, hopefully BM will be more consistent (and less contorted)

Go for it mate, i dont mind if it gets released 3 years in the future!

it would be good to make 3D version of map like in Resident Evil Movies…

I’d like a geographic map of City 17, it would be at least somewhat possible. Although there’d have to be multiple maps for different times, before and after the slow-teleport as well as the citadel top blowing up, which would screw things up a bit.

Wut, is it like a giant explosion?

Ep2 version of City 17 would be easier to do :stuck_out_tongue:

If it were me in charge… I would ensure all levels are all inclusive and didnt bump into each other. Elevators, longer hallways, deeper in ground, higher in the sky… whatever it takes… but map the baby out to perfection! :mean:

But (thank God for the life of the project) I am not in charge. :stuck_out_tongue:

To be honest, in-game you’re not exactly going to notice. It never even occured to me that the maps double back on each other. Black Mesa is such a twisty warren that it’s impossible to maintain a sense of direction.

Are you referring to the outlands? or to the city that was completely leveled by the citadel exploding?

^ the latter

Stopped reading. I Approve

If Source didn’t have that size limit, you would notice it at some point I guess. That might be sooner than you think

the one thing about this map is funny how can be surface under the labs which are under surface ?? O_o

Back when I was in middle school and highschool I wrote my own sequel to Half-Life (99-2001ish), I called it Half-Life 2: Earth Annihilation.

It was on a couple big fanfic sites (particularly Half-Life.net’s writer’s block). I managed to write 50+ pages of it but got kind of board and ran out of steam… I have since attempted to re-write and “mature-ize” my writing, as some of it was my style of writing at an immature and lower level… I never finished that either… but anyhow, my version of Half-Life 2 is way different than Valve’s obviously…

Anyhow, in my story, Black Mesa was huge… miles upon miles in the desert. I think I had wrote that it was 20 miles in diameter or something, really big.

Anyone ever heard of the Savannah River Site? Former cold-war nuclear materials facility situated near the border of Georgia and South Carolina? I live right down the street from there.

The huge green blob, is the Site. It had 5 reactors at one time. Somewhat trippy. I was thinking similar to that but much larcher and more barren as the desert is obviously.

I really dont care what the map looks like from a birds eye view im more intrested in first person pespective in game, far more important

yeah, and you can like, run around in it and shoot stuff…

The facility is divided into 7 lettered sectors surface-wise (i.e. horizontally) and vertically is is comprised of 9 numbered areas…

Apparently it stretched fairly deep within the earth as well as expanding outwards at least a few miles.

it is very large and most of it is abandoned as i see… cos after invason there were lot of “rotten” areas

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
