Black Mesa is weird as soapy-smelling shit. There is no way to tell seeing as it was built this illogically.

I think this is the reason you are forced to do as much duct crawling as you do. To confuse you so you don’t notice that the maps overlap and turn back in on each other.

I guess. But the ducts are also:
A ) Easier to render in-game
B ) Once a duct curves, it is the perfect spot to pause and load the next level

^and you can put some headcrabs in there to scare the player.

I just tell myself that the world in HL doesn’t carve into itself but instead some parts are slightly on top/below each other.

And you could have like, an alien attack!

Yeah it’s annoying how it overlaps, but still, could these overlaps not be attributed to it being miles vertically aswell?

When i was little i always hoped that putting the noclip cheat in would let me run around the rest of the facility. Damn was I gutted.

Although i’d love to see someone try and map out the entire facility, even not during an alien invasion, it would kick so much ass.

I think that whoever made that map screwed up a little. I mean, the passage between Questionable Ethics and ST just dead-ends, meaning he messed up when he pieced it together. Plus, he has no way of knowing the location of the second half of the game relative to apprehension.
