Obviously, I don’t remember the amount of times I’ve seen one on youtube.
To Stop A Gaben, Take Control…
If she deleted Caroline…she deleted herself!
she deleted the part of herself that wanted to be friends with chell because the simplest solution is usually the right one
It’s been many years since Portal 1 and when you get out into the wheat field, it seems to be well tended. The cement block that the shed was sitting on was not overgrown.
There’s someone (or something) tending to the field.
glados probably built the shed after you passed out at the end of portal 2
a wheat field could indicate that civilization has restarted from scratch and by the time humanity has been repopulated in that area there was nothing left of aperture science on the surface, so glados built a really uninviting shed, probably temporary, because she doesn’t care about the human race and wants to be left alone, to test.
No. White people do not make asians.
I’m fairly certain it’s possible if the father is Asian :3 . Plus we never saw Caroline so for all we know she could have been Asian.
Yes we do and she isn’t. Plus she’s married to science.
Where exactly does this happen? And who says Science isn’t Asian. Racist.
In one of the speed gel testchambers there is a room with a portrait of her and cave. You get an achievement for finding it.
I just… felt sick after that ending. I stopped eating and didn’t really talk to people for a few days.
The ending cutscene felt out of place and disappointing, mounted atop the already cluttery and unpolished ending of the story itself. All-in-all, such a weak ending was a lot like BioShock: an unchallenging final boss, coupled with action that you have no control over, and wouldn’t necessarily do if your controller still worked…
It was a perfectly good ending. Not necessarily what I wanted, but it had all the qualifications of a passable ending. It just lacked nuance. The story, as a whole, lacked the structure and gradual reveal that has made every linear Valve game great. As a result, the ending seemed to be a non-sensical insistence on a conflict that was not evidently present anymore.
2: Yes
3: Yes
Let me copypaste my post from another thread:
Too many things point to this, for it not to be true.
I’d just like to briefly say that I mostly agree with the OP as far as the game itself goes.

It looks like (at least) the wall-mounted health stations and HEV chargers and maybe something that is, or at least looks at lot like the gravity gun? I don’t really get the gravity gun part, I could have sworn Eli said it was made after the BM incident.
I also think there is some familial relation between Caroline/GLaDOS and Chell. Probably Chell being the daughter of Caroline; the “mia bambina” line in the ending opera seems to more than hint at that. I also think that Cave might be her father, biologically or through adoption. According to the new timeline, Cave seems to have died in the mid 80s-ish, which puts Chell in about the right age group. It also explains why her name is redacted in the files.
Furthermore, I don’t think GLaDOS deleted Caroline. Not because I don’t think she can, I’m not sure if she can either way, but because her compassion for Chell remains after she supposedly deletes Caroline. I think this was a typical GLaDOS lie, but this time used to scare Chell into never coming back to the facility, out of fear that GLaDOS has gone back to her normal self. Maybe Caroline realized that she can’t really control her/GLaDOS’ behavior very well and thought that the simplest solution was to lie to Chell to protect her from her GLaDOS side. GLaDOS’ being ‘married to science’ can also be a dehumanized way of referencing Caroline’s being married to Cave. Science, to GLaDOS is Aperture, and Aperture is Cave.
yeah about that ending…
obvious shit… was so obvious, almost copy paste of the first portal,
really unchallenging, at least the moon-scene made my jaw drop, thatw as cool
but not the fight itself. valve has made so many intense last levels,
Half life was coool
hl2 was boring ending imo
ep1 was ok
ep2 was really nice, magnusson device + dodga charger + a dozen striders =hell yeah
portal 1 end sucked exept for the very last scene
portal 2 end: ^
maybe its so hard to make a good ending without guns or other limitations
portal has that i cant think of now
Needed moar cowbell
Game was over all easy. Yet it had its parts a few times where i wnated to shoot myself in confusion.
What Wheatly was gonna do in the main computer was very obvious. I just knew he would betray you the player.
Loved going through old chambers although was discouraging.
I really liked the “Wheatly Chambers”. I especially liked the first one, the one before wheatly finds the archived chambers, it surely expressed wheatly’s stupidity.
Final boss was unbelievably easy. I expected more than that. Yet again wheatly wasn’t the smartest bot in the world.
Best ending ever. Hands down. Shooting the portal on the moon was brilliant. It was like there was a connection in my brain. Gamma -> made from moon rock -> MOON.
One of the best games i have ever played in all.
EDIT:
Btw. the turret opera was absolutely amazing. All i could think about during it was playing through portal 1 and the experiences in portal 2.
2: No
She deleted the emotional response section of Caroline at any rate. She no longer feels emotions.
Chell is not her daughter, white people do not make asians. Why don’t you people understand genetics.
President Elect? Obama? Did I miss something? o_O
Edit for the ninja:
GLaDOS, between both games, has probably lied to you more than she’s told the truth. She supposedly said she wasn’t able to lie to you while she was a potato since she didn’t have enough power. However, why can’t she lie to you again once she is back in her original body? Also note theriddlen’s post. Her behavior after Chell wakes up is different from the old GLaDOS, and seemingly different from potato GLaDOS as she seems to have remembered some more now. Her plates are still blue; they have not turned red. Then there’s the “Now little Caroline is in here too” line from “Want You Gone”. Most importantly, though, is the opera that comes right before “Want You Gone”. “Mia cara”, or “my dear” is heard a few times, but “mia bambina”, or “my baby/little girl” is heard as well.
Secondly, where does anything whatsoever make Chell out to be asian? Sure, she does kind of look it, but until Valve comes out and says it, you have no actual basis for asserting that. Secondly, she’s “whiter” looking in Portal 2 than she is in the original Portal. Thirdly, she can always be adopted. In fact, that goes along with her (biological) parents having ‘abandoned her at birth’, if GLaDOS wasn’t lying then.
Chell did faint…
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
