I like the Legend of Zelda series, specially the 2D games. The Ocarina of Time was a nice game, too, but nothing beats the 2D ones.
^^This, although, I would not mind seeing the 2D ones made 3D now…
Maybe a Super Mario Galaxy type of Zelda (Without gravityswitching), but switching between 2D and 3D?
I couldn’t see how that would work at all. And they’ve already done a similar thing a few times anyway - in Link to the Past, you switched between worlds; in Ocarina of Time you switched between time periods; in Twilight Princess you switched between human and wolf forms. Between 2d and 3d though? That’d be kinda tough to do and I don’t see how it would make for a useful and interesting mechanic.
No, I think they’ll probably continue to make separate 2d and 3d versions of Zelda like they have been for a while. Frankly, IMO, if they continue doing what they’re doing, I’ll be happy. I’ve enjoyed most every Zelda game I’ve played so far.
EDIT: Also, the CD-I Zeldas don’t count for anything. They were made by Philips and were so terrible Nintendo barely even acknowledges their existence. So voice acting is still a possibility, though unlikely given the game’s history.
I’ve heard in Zelda Wii they’re going to change the dungeon and over world system :awesome:. That would hopefully breathe some fresh air into the series. I certainly hope they try to get away from the ridiculous amount of content they recycle from game to game, it gets tiring fighting a boss I have fought in 3 other Zelda games.
I got addicted to A Link to the Past when I was young… I know the game by heart so it’s not even fun anymore Someone should make a hacked ROM of it for emulators, with a new map and dungeons and stuff… Like Super Metroid: Revisited. That would give some challenge. And… now that I write think I’m thinking: it probably exists.

I think I know what to do for the next couple hours
Oh, and Ocarina of Time is awesome too.
I didn’t care much for Majora’s Mask at first… It looked cartoony and a bit childish to me, with the masks and transforming stuff. But when I started playing it, I really loved it. And the whole game had some sinister feel to it, not sure why.
I wish I had a Wii to try Twilight Princess
You can also get it for GameCube if you have one. The Wii version really adds nothing to it.
I don’t
In fact, I have a SNES and a N64, but neither are working
By the way, that Zelda: Parallel Worlds hack I linked to is pretty neat… Game is REAAAAALLY hard though. The first hour or so, you don’t even have a sword and have to kick asses by throwing pots and bushes on enemies
However, most puzzles I encountered so far were pretty lame, and mostly consisted of annoying mazes through the dungeon. But I’m not very far yet. And, well, it gives me something to do I guess.
If you’re having trouble finding what you need to play it… well I don’t want to link to a ROM or anything, but let’s just say the comments in this digg article have some interesting insight
It really was hard, as a true Zelda fan I had to check it out. ;p
Yup, it is really cool. I had to dodge a lot of soldiers. The soldiers run after you, so you have to use the obstacles to prevent them from getting to you. It is really fun I’m not past that part yet, though.
