Nice to see Loom and Full Throttle mentioned, but I can’t go by this thread without saying:
Grim Fandango!!

Oregon Trail. :retard:
Good is an understatement. It’s one of my favorite games that I’ve ever owned. It’s not too expensive on Steam, if you want it pretty badly.
buy it from steam its only 10 bucks and its totally worth it.
If you’re talking about getting a physical copy, you should read this.
And then, click this. DOO EET. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.
WARNING: May cause carpal tunnel syndrome.
The Last Stand 2(flash game)
GUN
and plenty more.
Let’s see…
Beyond Good and Evil (a distinct possibility if wikipedia & youtube are to be believed!)
Full Throttle (nearly got one twice, maybe now with telltale getting on the case it’s a possibility)
Loom (ditto)
Portal (just a matter of time, I should think)
Crimson Skies (yes I know there was an Xbox sequel, but I want one on the PC dammit!)
Psychonauts
Republic Commando
Dreamfall
Dredd vs Death (Maybe not a direct sequel, but I think a sandbox/GTA style Dredd game is just crying out to be made!)
I’m tempted to put Grim Fandango on the list, but the truth is I’d MUCH rather it stayed a unique and self contained story (I really don’t trust anyone to handle a sequel properly.) Would love to see it get a “Special Edition” graphical update though!
This a thousand times. That game was full of so much win.:jizz:
I could sure use a new wing commander game. Maybe a new Dark Forces game. I would like a remake of either X wing, or Tie Fighter… XvT didn’t hit the spot for me.
I’d like a new baldurs gate game. There is so many more though…
YES, Freelancer owned… though the campaign ended a bit abruptly, and there was not that much to do after that. Well, except to go get some ridiculously badass alien weapons…
Republic Commando
Prototype
Crysis
HL2
Crysis 2 was announced, it won’t be long dude.
Oddworld: Abe’s Exxodus. I loved that game so much on the PS1. I have it for PC, and would LOVE a 3-D side-scroller Abe adventure. 2-D was cool, but 3-D would be even better. And side-scrolling is awesome.
Hope we don’t have to wait very much…
I’d also like to see “Half-Life 3” in the next years.
There was a leaked gameplay of Star Wars Battlefront 3. The employee must be pwned hardcore by LucasArts. Hahaha, Check it out on youtube.
Portal too! Sorry for double post.
They already made a sequel several actualy…
OT3
OT4
OT5
You could argue that those are remakes and not realy sequels, so…
Yukon Trail
The Amazon Trail
Africa Trail
Oppossing force thatd be sweet. actually done by a leading company.
for some reason, all the games I want to see a sequel to would have the most trouble actually making a sequel.
Portal - Game ends with you outside, Portal’s mechanics just don’t lend well to an open environment. There’s already support for map editors and map packs, so a new game seems rather redundant.
Psychonauts - It’s been a while since I played, but while people say it ended on a cliff hanger, I actually disagree. The ending consisted of the beginning of a new adventure, but that was needed to verify the resolution to Psychonauts; that Raz has become a psychonaut tasked with handling these problems. While this could be worked into a sequel, how would you get around the huge quantity of psychic powers Raz possesses at that point? Go the cliche route of “Oh, your powers have been stolen by some psychic sucking device! You’ll have to start over from the beginning to build your powers back up, perhaps learning different techniques and losing some of the old techniques permanently!” That just feels completely against everything I loved about the unique and quirky gameplay of the original. It would be interesting to see though, as it opens itself up for potential Multiplayer by having Lili as a playable character, since she seems to be working with Raz at the end.
Opposing Force - Lets face it, the 7 Hour War is the PERFECT time for Adrian Shephard to make a comeback appearance. It might not be a long game, since it should only cover the timeframe just a little before and after the 7 hour war, so no more than about 12 hours of in game time should take place. As result it would probably only be about the length of Episode 1, but the plot writes itself: Shephard is tasked with protecting Eli, Alyx, Kleiner, Mossman, and Barney during the events of the 7 hour war.
Too bad that Gearbox felt the need to add Race X. In order to keep Race X from becoming cannon, having Shephard make a reappearance is the last thing Valve will ever do. About the only way I see this happening is if Valve starts “OF2” with a cutscene movie like what HL2:E2 started with, that played scenes from OF, but specifically replaced the appearances of Race X with some sort of HL or HL2 equivalent like Bullsquid, antlions, vortigons, Alien Grunts and Gargantua. That way they could allow Adrian Shephard and the events surrounding him to be cannon while claiming that the individual alien appearances weren’t.
Cave Story - The game has multiple endings, with the good ending being very difficult to get, so which one would you use as the base to start the story of the sequel. Perhaps rather than a sequel, a prequel would be better for this, taking place during the original war times that Quote originated from. It would likely be a LOT different from Cave Story though.
