Games you wish you hadn't paid full price for

Oh my.

I can’t believe I forgot this.

Your grammar isn’t perfect, either.

/facepalm

CoD6: MW2: Waste of $60. I only got it because I liked CoD 4: MW.

Crysis 2: I thought my (old) computer couldn’t handle the first game so I got this one instead (derp logic). It turned out to have broken multiplayer, I could not get into a single online game (I can now though, I don’t like it) and the single player was linear and restrictive. I am very glad I got Crysis (1), becasue that game is great.

Battlefield 3, what a piece of badness.

Final Fantasy XIV, The worst.

RAGE, What a huge disappointment.

Only 1 game springs to mind, and that is BF3. SP was shit, MP apparently isn’t my cup-of-tea, despite loving BF:V.

Unreal 2

Worst sequel ever? Not quite. Dues Ex: Invisible War would hold that crown for me. But this one was close. The characters sucked, the missions sucked, the cutscenes that you were forced to watch every takeoff and landing sucked…

Dues Ex: Invisible War.

Worst sequel ever. Where the first and third games rewarded you for looking around and being inginuative, the middle one just punishes you for every decision you make.

Red Faction

I know people love it, but I can’t stand that game. The whining NPCs, the horrible vehicle sections, the QTEs that come out of nowhere, and stupid puzzles that just pissed me off, and a forced stealth section that didn’t really require any stealth? What the fuck? Why did you take my weapons away for this shit? I hate this game! Hate it!

Far Cry

I knew the “twist” about who was my real enemy at the first level (because of Red Faction, actually), and the “open world” fell apart for me on the first level, as well as the rocket sniper on a boat that was programmed to see you no matter where you were pissing me off to no end. And then the Trigens that were way overpowered and uninteresting to fight… Terrible experience.

Final Fantasy XIII: I didn’t even pay for this one, my sister did, and it was so bad I feel like i paid for it

I agree about Unreal 2. I guess that’s what Epic gets for handing off the single player portion of their franchise to the developer who made the expansion packs.

Woops – was looking at something else in his post, not the “payed,” my bad.

Tell you a game I’m gonna pay full price for? Dear Esther. One more month.

I forgot to mention Street Fighter IV earlier.

I played Street Fighter II a ton on the SNES (three versions at different points, never owned, always borrowed/rented) and then went with a long gap of not playing any Capcom fighters.

I just wasn’t into it, and couldn’t get into it.

Oh, yeah, I bought that game to play with a few people and ended up only playing it one time.

i went to DL the first release of it again last night. i couldn’t actually bring my self to do it. the difference in quality between the 2 versions is so substantial i didn’t want to ruin DE for myself.

on topic.

Homefront < wasted effort, MP was good bar the excess of snipers.
AvP (2010 release was it?) < ruined everything about the series.
MW3
Black Ops
Iron Bear < its not out yet but i know ill hate it.

i dont know why i waste so much money.

Thankfully, it has been a very long time since I have paid full price for a game. In fact, the last game I paid full price for was Crysis Warhead. Thankfully it was only $29.99, which is what the yearly Call of Duty is actually worth. Before that, it was either the Orange Box, Crysis or COD 4. Speaking of Call of Duty, COD 4 is my choice. Nothing gets me more than paying full price for half a game. At least I was able to resell it and pick up a copy for free later on. I am now more than happy to wait until the price of a game drops to a reasonable level.

Disclaimer, Amazon offered a $20 credit if you pre-ordered Portal 2 so I don’t really consider that full price.

I’ll tell you what I don’t regret paying full price for on day one. My Nintendo 3DS. I’m actually extremely satisfied with the purchase despite the lack of quality titles at launch. The Ambassador Program was great, and all, however I’m glad that I got to experience Ocarina of Time 3D and MarioKart 7. And receiving Four Swords Anniversary Edition was also another major bonus.

Though I do regret, to a certain extent, getting Asphalt 3D. It’s not that I was disappointed with it, because I had plenty fun with it, but mainly because I could have gotten Ridge Racer 3D instead. The good that came out of it, was I received enough in-store credit by trading it in with a few other games, to be able to get OoT3D for only $10.

RRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACER

Quake 4: Was hoping for it to be a good game, but ended up being a poor sequel to Quake 2, and it didn’t help that I wasn’t much of a fan of Quake 2’s story and setting either.

I wasn’t aware that Quake 2 had much of a story to begin with.
