Games you wish you hadn't paid full price for

Probably Dead Island. I played it for three days before putting it down and never touching it again. While a lot of work went into the game’s advertisements, I wish the same level of detail and originality went into the gameplay. The NPC’s didn’t even have unique dialogue for either sex you could choose! Lazy!

Also, Medal of Honor…good game, but it was really short.

Soldiers are sent to Stroggos to stop an enemy from invading the Earth. Our dropships are rendered ineffective by their “Big Gun”, an EMP device. Bitterman (the character you play) is one of very few survivors of the original onslaught and is sent to deactivate the Big Gun. After doing that he is sent to the Macron (leader of the Strogg) to destroy it and stop the war here and now.

No, not much story. But it is there.

Left 4 dead 2

Grand Theft Auto IV

Most dissapointing games I ever bought and a waste of money.

Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty: Black Ops - The story was actually quite good but I never got down to play the multiplayer actively.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Multiplayer isn’t bad at all in my opinion, but there’s really nothing special about the game, singleplayer was alright and multiplayer makes fun. I would have liked to buy it from amazon.co.uk for about 40,00 Euro but damn PayPal didn’t work for some reason. > :frowning:

It’s terrible.

It’s a failure. A carbon copy of MW2.

And MW2 wasn’t all that bad,so surely MW3 isn’t all that bad?

All three Modern Warfares are pretty good.

Modern Warfare 3 is undoubtly the worst game in the series. The maps are shit with one or two exceptions and, yes, I have a reason for this statement. You can’t climb ANY objects what so ever. No boxes, barrels, rooftops or anything like that. They have no variety at all and I highly regret buying the game since I only bought it for the multiplayer. MW2 on the other hand is a great, fun game that I can proudly admit to have been playing for over 1000 hours. Good day.

Over a month of playing time in the same game? What the fuck is even wrong with you?

Sounds deep and engaging.

I never played Quake for the story. It was all about shooting baddies. You can’t get away with that today, but in the 90s you could.

id used to not let silly things like “story” get in the way of shooting tons of baddies. Just “This is how it is, now go kill some motherfuckers.”

Which is maybe why they’re kind of falling behind these days since that’s not acceptable anymore.

Doesn’t help that they’ve kinda fell behind in the tech department too.

Oh well, at least Doom 4 and Quake 5 are going to be sequels to both original games, and basically gonna be arcade style shoot everything that breathes and have fun doing it games. Just hope they don’t load them up with cutscenes.

Doom 4 and Quake 5 will be engine showcases, because this is id software we’re talking about here.

Anything post-Doom 2 and Quake 2 were engine showcases, Quake 3 kind of got away with it due to the multiplayer being somewhat fun.

I’ll probably get some hate for this, but I actually liked Doom 3. I didn’t find it to be just a showcase, personally.

None here. I don’t see how Doom 3 could remotely be labeled as “bad”.
Ever been spooked by the Imps that leap at you the moment you open a door?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
