Games That you were dissappointed with

This thread has been really well used today, which is some consolation I guess.

I agree with him on all of the points too… the voice acting is dreadful; couldn’t they have gone the approach of having a semi-spoken script with better voice actors? Oh wait, not everyone in the west reads anymore, I forgot!

The game itself isn’t terribly disappointing, but there are many flaws to it. Thanks for getting me to play it more with your little stories & screenshots.

Oh okay thanks for telling me  Now i know what not to do

I have to agree!

Games that were supposed to be awesome but in the end were disappointing:

-Half life 2
I didn’t like
°The new storyline (combine, resistance)
°The stupidity of combine soldiers
°The lack of variety of alien creatures (no “boss” creatures such as the Gargantua or Tentacle, where you had to solve a puzzle to kill them)
°The lack of exotic weapons (compared to guns like tau/gluon gun, snarks, hivehand…)
°The neverending scripted sequences
°The constant feeling that I’m playing a game that has nothing to do with half-life1.

-Crisis
°I’m not a fan of the nanosuit, and the fact that your health regenerates. It makes the game too easy. In Far Cry you could play different styles (charge and shoot or tactic/avoiding direct fight), and you didn’t need any superpower-suit for that.
It would have been great IMO if you didn’t get to use the nanosuit until a certain point (1/3 or 1/2 of the game). It would have fitted perfectly: at the beggining of the game you are told your suit is “damaged”. But 30 seconds later it is magicly repared…

°Aliens. Wasn’t a very interesting enemy.

Just to be clear, I do think they are good games, just not as good as I expected.

I actually agree with most of those points about HL2, apart from the combine/resistance thing.

Spore.

Spore.

Why does everyone has something against Spore?
I liked that game very much.

I liked it, but it was so far from what was expected it may as well have been a different game.

I think that the game was rated mainly based on graphics and the game engine/environment for the most part. Game play wise I think that it is essentially the same as any first person shooter with a few added features. I did like that when on the hardest setting you couldn't spot grenades as easy and couldn't understand what the Koreans were saying... That was cool.

Whoever thought the graphics were subpar in my opinion had a subpar graphics card. When the game first came out it was THE only game that put any strain what-so-ever on my system.

-= On topic =-
I was disappointed in the fact that when the stand alone expansion came out for Company of Heroes you couldn’t enter mingle the different armies with the original. That has stopped me from playing Company of Heroes all together.

But THE most disappointing game ever is "Killing Floor". Never have I seen a game so over hyped and with game play features on the same level as an independent *mediocre* mod maker(s). I would have rather spent the money on $20 worth of pogs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pogs (Just in case those of you who are to young to understand and I think non-Americans. I'm not sure if this retarded game was outside the states.)

No, Pogs were over here too. And just as awesome.

Careful - Opinion about subjective things ahead:

Far Cry 2: No connection to the first one.
GTA 3/VC/SA: 3 because for me it felt too much like Driver, VC and SA because they look and play like AddOns to 3
Spore: Only half the game it was supposed and announced to be
Gunman Chronicles: Not quite the announced “Half-Life killer”
NFS MW/C: Nice games, but I hate rubberband A.I. so f***ing much.
Command & Conquer 4: No Aliens? No Base? No Harvesting? Weird ass plot? Way too much experimenting for the final part of a game series.

GTA 3 felt like Driver how? There’s quiet a big difference in that you can get out of your car in GTA.

Maybe he meant Driver 3?

Never. The only Driver is the first one, and I stick to that notion no matter what the universe tells me.

Spyro 4
stronghold 2
call of duty 3
legend of Zelda majoras mask
Driver 3

Lol, Spyro 4.

“It is your density- I mean your destiny, Spyro.” Genius writers.

In what way were you dissappointed in MM?
I think it’s the best Zelda game ever, so I’d like to hear what’s dissappointing with it. :3

Daikatana, Oni PS2, Unreal 2, DooM 3, Crysis, Farcry 2, Super Turrican 2, Street Fighter Zero/Alpha, Mortal Kombat 3…

Spore.

Definitely Spore.

But also:

 • GTA3-4, because as someone said before, it’s the embodiment of everything going wrong with games these days.
 • Unreal 2

No, not really. I have 19" Wide. Hmm… - Difficult setting? I set on hard, meaby You have right with my patience. :freeman:

I know, that Half-Life: Source was never supposed to be a remake, but just like the Doop say:

I’ve just expected something more…

BTW:

:frowning: For Call Of Duty: World At War?

P.S. Sorry if I make any mistakes, I’m from Poland, and my english is not so fluently as I want…
