Hey guise,
So I’ve recently bought Xbox 360 pad and plugged it to my pc, which is plugged to my HDTV and 5.1… I quite enjoy playing my games this way. Due to that my fiance asked me recently to get her some games so she can play too. Listen, she’s not a gamer kind of person. Gaming with keyboard and mouse is more difficult for her than entertaining. Pad is easier for her to overcome… Do you guys know of any quite simple yet entertaining games she could try. It doesn’t really has to support xbox 360 pad as I have xpadder… I have basically no idea. Thanks for help.

Ask her what kind of games she likes and then, perhaps, we could get a more specific idea of what to recommend.

You all think of bunnies and puppies and unicorns and flowers and pink stuff and rainbows and sparkly vampires and Justin Beaver.

Make her play any games you have on your computer until she finds one she likes.
I didn’t mean to offend you gals. I just didn’t pick the right words for my thoughts and my topic’s name might be a little unfair… I’m looking for something quite simple… Maybe some puzzle or adventure games? Most important with some easy controls that I could adjust with xpadder… You see, the most limiting factor is that my fiance had never played much on PC or Xbox and she’s having trouble with controls. I would like to find some games with easy controls that wouldn’t be punishing so she doesn’t give up. Most of FPSes or RPGs are simply too punishing. You know, you must learn how to make small steps before you run a marathon…
In everyday’s life she enjoys the most games like Scrabble etc. Logic based games and so on…
Portal 2. There’s coop in addition, so you two can play together.
Nope, she’s never played any games so I can’t say what’s her taste. When we talked about it she joked that if I get her Tetris it’d be great… I think that anything you consider cool with easy controls would be great. I need just some suggestions. I will certainly show her a few games and she’ll then choose what she likes… but right now I have nothing to show.
I tried to introduce her to Portal, but playing with two axises (am I spelling it right?) was more difficult for her than entertaining. So I guess for the beggining a 2D game would be the best… Later on I’ll sure try to encourage her to play 3D games again.
So:
-Easy controls
-2D
-Adventure or Puzzle game (possibly, point and click?)
-Not too brutal, no gore or shit like that
Maybe if I tell you what is her movie taste it will be easier… Her favourite TV series was Prison Break (Shawshank Redemption). In general she likes action/catastrophic/Sci-fi movies mix like: Independence Day, 2012, Knowing, Pitch Black, I Am Legend, Inception…
If you have any ideas or suggestions then great… If not thanks for trying to help us…
peggle on xbox totally has multiplayer and rulez.
Thanks a lot SassyRobot… These are some really good ideas, I’ll show them to my fiance as soon as she gets back home.
If you want 2D adventure/puzzle games, may I suggest the first two Monkey Island games (they’ve got HD versions now) and the first two Broken Sword games.
this?
the sims?
I’ve been expecting this… Just… No…
World of Goo is a really good suggestion.
^ this.
Also, Plants vs. Zombies was pretty cool.
popcap games are bbasically universally entertaining. they like the video game equivalent of the pioneer plaque sans dingus
My ex used to be the type to play Sims, WCII and games like bejeweled… until I got her into UT - then it was ON!!! HL, HL2, Sven Coop… Then we divorced for unrelated reasons.
