G-man

Ok first, what’s canonical mean, and second, new gman theory. Ok maybe gman is just a supernatural creeper. Someone was gonna get to sayin that, might as well have been a non jackass.

I think the pistol was put in his briefcase just to be an easteregg and nothing else.

Absolutely. Anything you have to use cheats to see/access is clearly not a part of the game in itself, and therefore shouldn’t be considered canonical.

Yea, I don’t think Easter Eggs count as canonical gameplay.

Otherwise the floating guy in hl2 could be seen as something significant to gameplay? Perhaps he is the Gman from the past. D:

Part of the canon, official plot material.

ok what else is there?

Alyx Vance, the attractive and most important non-player character in the Half Life Saga. but According to me, Its very ridiculous quality of the TV that it makes an after image of Alyx its not G-man because G-man knew Gordon was heading to black mesa east but he did not expect for him to go to ravenholm so that’s why we don’t see any G-man sightings in ravenholm.

Sooo, the Gman is Alyx?

no he is not. gman + alyx = OH GAWD. jack was just pointing out the fact that gman never shows up in ravenholm cuz he doesnt expect gordon to be there so he doesnt prepare a creeper sighting.
thats all i have to say about that.

my theory: G-man is the son of Nihilianth with an only objective: take down the combine power over xen, the earth etc… (yes I said xen listen what says nihilianth when it dies [he says: we are their slaves, we are]) he needed to find some creature wich could do this mission, some1 with hability, aim, good use of weapons, some1 strong, who could be a good leader, a tactic and intelligent man. well this guy is Freeman, after he found him, he created a human body to make him seem a human. After this he let the scientist get the xen cristal to teleport the xenians controlled by Nihilianth and test him, let him kill his father to win all the new powers seen in HL2 like stop the time and let some1 resting for years when it seems minutes for the trapped person. But of course this is only my theory

Then why would G-man want control of Xen? And then who would his employer be?

Though the idea of him getting the Nihilanth’s powers would actually make sense. I mean, he doesn’t do anything really weird until after the Nihilanth is killed.

Also, the Combine didn’t actually have power over Xen, but rather, the Xenians were fleeing from the Combine and were cornered in Xen when the hole to our dimension opened up.

he didn’t really wanted the control of Xen, he was lying to make Freeman think he’s on the Human side. EDIT: and that’s the cause he’s showing the dead HECU soldiers instead of Xen when he was saying it, because it’s not really true.

And that of his employers, could be another lie or could be reffering to Shephard who is now in what I call ‘‘rest time until he needs you again’’ or to all the HECU or Black Ops. (Srisly disguised as a government man he has got millitary forces under his control)

I think G man is an intersteller being trying not to show his TRUE identity to anyone. Sure, he protects Gordan all the time but at the same time, putting him in so much DANGER. With that said, I’m sure we’ll ALL find out it Half Life 2 Episode 3 and/or Half Life 3. I say we leave him alone untill those games to see what happens to him…

And I’ve also noticed that G man is getting more and more as a main character in the games than someone that just talks to you. Eli Vance DIED right after he said he was going to tell you about G man.

So, another reason that I think he’s not who you THINK he is…

Btw, in the first Half Life, he says that Xen is in OUR control, yet some people say that he’s lying about employers and how he studders when saying that. I, For one, agree. That gave him the opprotunity to control time and stuff. But, who said he couldn’t do that before…?

did ya saw him doing anything more than dissapear in hl1 until the end? That’s the cause I said he won the powers from the Nihilianth dead, but of course, is just my theory

I think he’s a High Placed Combine…and he’s trying to manipulate Gordon to do somwthing with him…maybe…Who knows ^_^…

True, true. It’s just weird. Plus, I’m still questioning if G man had anything to do with Eli’s death. Eli talks about G man. But saves Gordan and Alyx.

My theory is that G man doesn’t want Gordan to know he’s…well…something else. So since he [I]controls time and space[I]:awesome: he I GUESS told the combine engineers to kill Eli, and save Gordan with DOG. I know its weird thinking that if he commands the engineers to kill Eli, than try to kill Gordan it wouldn’t make sense. But, it’s been a WHILE since Half Life 2 has been released so I pretty much thought this through…Kinda.

:hmph:

gman is either
A) a combine leader (disputable)
B) A real government official
C) Gordon from another time.
those ones are the most believable to me. we won’t find out till ep3

G-Man is not Gordon Freeman from the future; Valve have even said so (although it’s sad that they even had to). And the Government in its original form no longer exists in Half-Life 2, so a real government official doesn’t make much sense. It’s possible that he’s part of the Combine, but his actions suggest otherwise. I think he’s part of something we haven’t seen yet.
