How much you want to bet that we never find out who the hell gman is?
If we knew who he was, he wouldn’t be the nutty but lovable wacko that the fans make him out to be.

Gman is satan on earth, and hes here to stalk gordon, and steal all his condoms…lol nah, i think he’s actually some kinda Xenian thing…why else would the vorts know him so damn well? idk, but he started the war right?
Gman’s e-mail address is a well known element of the Vortesence.
Actualy, i don’t play TF2 that much. Put that in your bong and smoke it.
I assume he uses G-Mail?
…was I late to the party of did I start it?
Possibly. He delivered the sample that caused the resonance cascade. After the Nihilanth was killed, the Combine attacked the world. We don’t know if this was his intention. But he seems to work against the Combine.

I hate how this thread keeps going to hell.
It’s really not so difficult to speculate on the why. The Combine has been stated on several occaisions to be a dominant intergalactic (dimensional) empire that conquers sentient life in order to assimilate them and use their specific traits to their own benefit.
I sure as hell wouldn’t want such an organisation to travel so freely that all they have to do is open a portal over a world and be able to conquer it within hours.
Many parties benefit from this action.
I really do hate to think the Combine are going to be finished with in Episode 3, really a fascinating enemy and it would be very interesting to see what they may have done with other races.
Same here. I cannot imagine what enemy or army we’ll be fighting after the Combine is gone.
As for the portal technology, it’s a bit astounding that the Combine did not have pure portal technology - yet the humans did. The humans had Kleiner, who seemingly perfected it, while the Combine had the more primitive and delayed kind. That’s very flattering
why flattering ? humans are very intelligent , it just happens that 99% of them aren’t …
Well the Combine nearly wiped us out in 7 hours. They’re a highly sophisticated race, being able to build machines and monoliths that were years ahead of primitive human technology.
And for them to want something we have that they couldn’t build themselves, that’s flattering.
take it this way . you are bound by your ancestors to take a road into thinking , as we are bound by the thinking of the first humans to like … kill others for survival n’shit , our way of building the portal was just not in their critteria for good , it’s like , i’d rather have a russian gun not a gun from my country , because their approach is more viabile
But thats what they did, and it took them 7. And more, what prevented them from going to xen?
^
On the first, yes, that’s my point.
On the second, no longer having their main (or perhaps most powerful) source of teleportation technology, Nihilanth. Also, it’s very possibly that Nihilanth was actively keeping any avenues between the Combine dimension and Xen closed.
Remember that it was after the destruction of Nihilanth and the ensuing portal storms (tearing of the fabric of cosms between dimensions) that the Combine found their opportunity to cross into our dimension.
Back to G-Man.
Ehh, i think that GMan used to work for the Combine, but then for some reason in that 20 or so years since the Black Mesa Incident got pissed off at them then decided to use the Freeman of Mass Destruction alongside the Alyx of Mass Distraction.
I guess he did due to the “We are in control of the Borderworld, for the time being” or whatever it is he says, he lets the Combine into Earth by delivering the Xen crystal sample to BM thus making the resonance cascade, and finally, he doesn’t like Eli. Might be (/sarcasm) because he tells Eli “Prepare for unforsssssseen conssssssequencessssss.” and then getting the cough COMBINE cough Advisors to kill him. Thank gawd.
Well, that was lengthy for my first post.
Doesn’t seem in keeping with G-Man’s MO, or his motives for that matter (still the largest question mark).
Finally, this theory does not take into account the “other bidders” that have been alluded to several times.
He iz guy who gon teech u lessun.
Out of idle curiosity, and not to get too off topic, but where was the hint and in what game was it suggested that the nillianth was the combine’s main or most powerful source of teleport tech?
looks through nillianth dialogue
Blah is the last, You are the blah, blah is the blah blah is the blah.
No.
But it would make sense, huh?
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
