Maybe but G-Man is not gordon freeman!
Maybe but G-Man is not gordon freeman!

I’d like to say three things:
“1. I’m surprised no one mentioned the end of HL2 where Breen tells Gordon his contract is open to the highest bidder. Maybe Breen tried to buy Gordon?”
I did. But i think the vorts were the highest bidder
I still think Gman looks like Michael Jackson because his mouth is sorta similar but that’s it.
Anyway I wonder what else the Gman can do… maybe he has some powers that will be later revealed further in the series.
^
I find he’s got more similarities with David Bowie.
As far as the other point, I don’t think we’ll be seeing much else insofar a his powers are concerned. As I’ve mentioned in prior posts, there seems to be a (imposed) limitation on what he’s allowed to do. Also, he doesn’t seem to be able to interact with the physical environments (though he can speak to people, and seemingly appear to only certain people at his own will).
The only way I can see them revealing more of the G-Man’s powers would be for G-Man to completely lose his control over his “assignment” and thereby reneg on the terms of the contract and let loose with his powers. I don’t really think it’s going to play out like that though.
It’s anybody’s guess who or what Gman is or what his or it’s purpose is.
You are arguing personal theories based purely on conjecture. You are all equally wrong.
So don’t shoot down other peoples ideas when yours are equally unfounded and absurd.
I believe that G-man is the anti-gordon (think anti-christ).
his name is gordon freeman but taking out the “free” and his humanizing first name.
valve placed him (gman) there so that the spirit of freeman would shine against the harsh contrast. That is not to say that gman is not a emotionally changed version of gordon…
Yeah. You shouldn’t shoot down other theories when yours involve Gordon’s momma or mutated puppies. Or even if it involved Gordon being Gman
I agree with Interloper. It’d completely out of character (at least from what we’ve seen) if he would physically interact with the world even if it was to support his cause.
Not at all, my theories are completely in line with what is observed of the G-Man throughout the series thus far. Ironically enough, I’d observed that G-Man seemed to be operating within certain restrictions before G-Man itself confirmed my theory.
This is the Heart to Heart, wherein he directly mentions that he works under certain restrictions.

So, I wasn’t shooting down that poster’s ideas I was merely pointing out that it would be out of character (as mark84j also points out) for the G-Man to operate a certain way.
Either way, this thread would be no fun if we all just accepted that we don’t know anything, and it’s worth reading if the odd interesting revelation pops up from time to time. At the very least, it helps clear people up on certain things, like the G-Man just being a model name, never intended as it’s actual moniker.
By the way, I’ll continue shooting down the absurd ideas as I see fit, thank you for your concern.
I dont like it when he talks with you.
…
No doubt there’s innuendo in that video, but let’s save the spamtacular posts for other threads.
thats freaky i forgot about that part… lol but about the physical contact… he said he “plucked” alyx" out of Black mesa and can put gordon in a stasis… so obviously he has “SOME” physical world prowess… but he has some restriction as said previously, as the vorts can supress his powers, wich leads me to believe… maby g-man isnt as powerful as we thought, maby his powers are just telepath and extreme telekinesis type crap. like… (im kinda overexsadurating) how if someones mind was strong enough they can create a fire by thinking it hard enough… maby thats how the g-man is… just a extremely powerfull phychic/telepathy/telekenetic, not an alien or anything just able to sense crap so he knows… pretty much everything… and what bout that hallway and corridor he was in… he obviously is somewhere in the world every time he talks to gordon so the only thing i can think of is telekenisis and telepathy. wich also leads me to believe that in HL3 you try and find him or learn more about him by going to that place in the video.
Edit: mind over matter… in this case, literaly
I mentioned earlier that G-Man’s claims about “plucking Alyx from Black Mesa” were dubious. It could be just as likely that G-Man is trying to break Gordon’s trust in Alyx, although, with Eli admitting that he’s aware of the G-Man as well could also lend truth to that statement.
However, what I meant was, that it doesn’t seem like the G-Man’s apparent physical form can interact with the physical environment as Gordon perceives it. There are various instances where headcrabs don’t detect it’s presence (this is the most specific example I can recall, although I think there are many other instances).
The examples you give involve elements of teleportation which we know he’s not unaccustomed to using.
when did i say teleportation??? i said he was in some building and telepathyed all his speeches to gordon and his telekenetic powers stops time and can stasis gordon… and how do we know he cant teleport anyways… we dont know he cant but we also dont know he can so you cant rule anything out… well… been a while since i played HL1 so idk about that but in HL2 you never really get told or see if he can or cant… i think we will have to wait till EP3 for more info and that was just an idea
I’m not implying that you mentioned teleportation, but clearly he’s capable of such as he was able to teleport Gordon to a stasis chamber at the end of Half-Life.
I’m pretty sure I mentioned in this thread already (if not then the one before the forum crash) that it is possible that G-Man is accessing only the minds of the people he wants to perceive him, as this certainly seems to be the case on a few occaisions.
Either way, here’s all the sightings of G-Man in the Half-Life series for everyones review.
Beware spoilers

thanks… i wasnt here b4 the crash… i found this site at the same time i registered (look under my name) i was looking to see where black mesa was located and i stumbled on this site and started posting like i know something -.-
Edit: whats halflife uplink and Decay… and why does he have a blackmesa logo on his breifcase is some cases he dosent… sry… im noob to half-life 1. i remember almost nothing from hl1… read my post in the thread “age when you first played HL1”
No worries, and yeah, most of us (or at least I shall definitely speak for myself) are accustomed to thinking that everyone who’s here now were also here before the crash, it’s easy to forget that not everyone was.
meh its kay… also i have something to add to my post above… alot of the g-man sightings in the HL2 part and the ep2 part… i never seen and some of em are in plain sight were iv seen those places (not looking for g-man ofc but just looking) and i didnt see him or pretty sure i didnt… and btw, mind awnswering my questiong about the different HL vetions iv herd of opposing forces and blue shift but never heard of uplink and decay
Yeah, I neglected to add some spoiler tags on those videos (just in case folks had never seen those areas yet, or more particularly heard the G-Man speeches).
Decay was a (almost dedicated) co-op addition to the release of Half-Life for PS2. It featured Dr’s. Collete Green and Gina Cross (who delivered the sample to the Test Chamber via accessways underneath the Test Chamber). The rest of the game concerns their adventures shortly after the Resonance Cascade. It is not considered canonical in the Half-Life continuity by Valve.
Uplink was the playable demo for Half-Life before the full version was released and featured some subtly different scenarios from scenes featured in the full version.
Thanks alot… sry im so noob… only really became fan of HL after HL2… after playing hl2 i wanna go back and see all that i missed XD :retard::retard::retard::retard:
