Hey, there’s this neat tech demo for a forced perspective first-person puzzle game that looks very cool. Wonder if this is going to be what Narbacular Drop did for Portal…
That freaked me out a lot more than it should have.
That is sick, I really hope we can play a game based on that soon, whether they make their own or a company like Valve acquires it.
Jaw-dropping. That’s some cool shit right there.
I know this has been said about nearly every other modern game, but I would love to play that with the Rift.
I think my primitive brain would melt if I played this with the Rift.
yeah, I need.
I don’t think that would work because your depth perception would ruin the effect.
Anyway, I guess we now know what to expect in Portal 3
It might ruin it but it’s still worth a shot
Now how about using portals with perspective manipulation? Suddenly, a man-sized portal becomes…
The portal and moon rooms were the ones that got to me.
^ Yeah, I wasn’t truly impressed until he picked up the window.
I love it, hope it’s available soon.
I’m the one wondering about the resized-portals. If you keep walking through the resized-portals over and over again, will you eventually become so “tiny” that you break the game? I’d love to test that out.
well, you could limit it, so that for example you implode and die or something
I really hope this becomes a real game. This looks so much fun to play with.
I saw a tech demo where someone made those resizable portals eons ago. It was on youtube right when portal came out. This guy was making a clone and expanded the idea to astronomical proportions. Didn’t go anywhere.
Maybe this is the same guy and it did go somewhere?
Prey did some of those multiple sized portals almost exactly like that.
I’m thinking you’d just get so small that simply getting back to the other portal would just take an eternity.
wait a sec… what would happen if you go through a portal with the portal still in your “hands”?
The portals turn off when you pick them up.
