Enjoy!

EDIT: Here’s more info for 'ya https://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=519261

It fucking better be first person only.

Hopefully it’s Thief and not steampunk Human Revolution.

I’m not seeing anything offensive so far. Off to a good start.

Based on what little we can see from the screenshots, it looks like we might be getting more vertical and open levels than Human Revolution had, too.

More Screenshots

My fears have been slightly quelled by these screens. In particular these

Because they perhaps allude to the game being fully playable in first person, leaning, shooting all that jazz. I hope to never have to switch perspective ever.

If they have systemic animations for the leaning (bottom image), I will be happy. It’s important in Thief that everything work consistently. I don’t want any contextual bullshit.

I pray the first person isn’t clunky like the third game. Trying to make jumps from small beams in that game was hell.

It shouldn’t be that hard to implement. Mirror’s Edge had really good animations in that respect, and they didn’t even get a whole lot of screen time.

In any case, I’m pretty interested in this title. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this series, even though I’ve never played it myself.

Can anyone tell me what are the actual storylines behind Thief games?

IMO they are amazing. Even T3, which is collectively considered the worst of the series is a pretty damn good game.

If you are a fan of any type of stealth or tactical games I would pick them up. The story is supposedly pretty good too, though I haven’t played the first one far enough yet to get all of the details.

I understand that the plot involves zombies, and sometimes you have to steal things, but that’s about it.

After reading a few things about this it apparently has takedowns and special vision stuff. Why does every “stealth” game these days need that shit. I’m going to stay VERY cautiously optimistic and while I enjoyed Dishonored (for as far as I’ve played), I just want a simple stealth game.

If they at least have a difficulty where you get fucked for trying to do a takedown I’d be happy.

Thief always had a lot of gameplay changes throughout each difficulty

See original post for a second link to more juicy info!!!

Here’s the second link, anyways https://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=519261

Did you play Mark of the Ninja? 'Twas a good’n.

Why does every game have bow and arrows now

I mean it’s better than guns 24/7 but I didn’t expect the genre to shift all at once

Pfft please, Thief : The Dark Project was rockin’ first person bow and arrow back in 1998. If anything, Thief started the trend. :stuck_out_tongue:
Looks pretty sweet so far, I really need to play more of the old ones. I’ve got those and The Dark Mod to hold me over until Thief 4!

For some reason I thought he was joking

far cry 3
crysis 3
tomb raider

Yeah, because Bow and arrow used in stealth back in Medieval period and it is totally invalid of Video Games take that idea and use it.
