Definitely the hunters. They posed a challenge, and it was so satisfying to run them over with the car.

My favorite would have to be the Antlion Guard and Guardian from ep2. The first time I went through the caves trying to outrun the Guardian made me shat myself, and then fighting them both after that was really enjoyable.
I agree, so much satisfaction when you road kill 'em. I like Gargantuas because well…they’re pretty kick ass.
EDIT: Hmmmm… has anyone made a Gargantua ragdoll or NPC for Garry’s Mod? Could I get a link. Especially a ragdoll. Thanks everyone.

Personally, i’d have to say Hunters. Everytime they appear i get this “Oh boy!” feeling of terror and excitement.

For me, it’s always been the headcrabs. I know what you’re thinking, but hear me out.
After battling zombies, zombines, Combine, hunters, striders, vorts, the HECU, and whatever else Xen and Earth can throw at you, when you think you have a chance to take a breather at 1HP remaining, SKWA-WEEEEEEEEH! from a duct. D:
I remember Half Life 1, fighting the through Power Up. I was in an intense battle with the marines in the silo with the balconies (this area) and I backed away quickly to reload when SKWA-WEEEEEEEEH! a headcrab pops out from behind a crate. Nearly gave me a heart attack.

Nothing beats the joy of crowbarring those things in midair. Every time I notice a headcrab coming my way, I run to a corner, crouch, and pull out my mêlée weapon. Then I wait for them to get close, and as soon as they jump to attack me, I swing my crowbar and hit them. Endless fun. I like headcrabs so much, I even sewed my very own life-size headcrab plushie.
