Execution Vs. Life Imprisonment

I concur.

Just a question: How is a bullet to the head more expensive than life imprisonment?

Can’t always trust the justice system. I see that as the only reason for not being for the death penalty.

There is no all-seeing eye, so any system of justice will have it’s faults. Hell, look at that guy who was in Texas, Cameron Willingham. A big, neglected and ignorant mistake happened. We can’t trust our system. At least, not completely.

And saying “revenge” is the only motivation is bullshit. But, yes, revenge would be there and I see revenge as a good thing in certain situations.

Only if everyone had a good conscience to always do good things… then we wouldn’t necessarily need a government. A perfect world. :fffuuu:

If I read that article through, I see the whole charge was a mistake in the first place, and I don’t get how he actually lost the case.

It has already been said before: because the convicted to death penalty have right to appeal.

Well, then I didn’t read it.

Capital punishment within 24 hours of judgement
World population problem suddenly resolves rather quickly.

(runs out of the thread cuz she knows she stated something stupid and [in character] ignorant  )

what’s the point of stating something stupid knowing that it is stupid? :expressionless:

to show that I am stupid and know it, therefore I am genius in my own stupidity? :expressionless:

I don’t know how to respond to that. :expressionless:

iz ok. am self proclaimed stupid. carry on.

the thread seemed like it was gonna die, so I posted something.

No, let it die. It’s been a terrible thread in the past. It deserves this fate… it shows no promise of rehabilitation.

I must confess that you are right, good man!

Don’t let this thread die, I like threads :3

Never! They can take our opinions! But they’ll never take our threads!

Because of the amount of appeals the prisoners have before they’re executed. Funnily enough, people tend not to want to die.

Further,it doesn’t act as a deterrent. States with the death penalty actually have higher murder rates than those without it. Now, that could be because of environmental factors, but its at the very least evidence that it doesn’t work.

/thread

not really /thread, since all that’s been said multiple times, and people will still ignore it to defend their shitty view of “KILL THEM ALL RAARRHGGHGH KILL EVERYONE”

Or, it simply could be a case of Ignoring a Common Cause.

Just sayin’…

I’d like you to describe everyone here who has had this “shitty view” of KILL THEM ALL RAARRHGGHGH KILL EVERYONE. Sounds quite like… stupidity? :fffuuu:

from now on, this comic will remind me of you: https://xkcd.com/386/
in a good way

Just a note, my question was already answered, and I got what he was saying without a link, thank you.
