I still have my Amiga 1200 in a box in my house with mouse and monitor. Haven’t powered it up in years, but I can’t bring myself up to get rid of it.
Has anyone else had an attachment to something like this? Is this crazy or what?

I use to have it to my shoes. Had one pair of nice ass shoes, the sole was pretty much missing but I used them anyway.
I get sick of/deteriorate through items pretty quick so more often I’m stuck with things such as clothing or equipment that I yearn to replace.
I am not particularly sentimental. Most of the useless things I keep are because if I were to get rid of my family would be upset.
Yeah, my 1994 RX7. I still cry myself to sleep thinking about how I sold that.
I collect old hard drives…I have about 10 sitting in a box. Haven’t powered them up in years and I don’t even remember if I’ve ever removed any data from them.
Sweatshirts. I have such a hard time letting go when they get old and torn up and stuff… and then I very quickly grow just as attached to the new one and forget i ever had an old one.
There was this milk I left out in the sun for a couple of days…
I suppose I might be attached to a few things that have special meaning to me, but mostly I just have what Tolkien described as ‘mathoms’ - things for which I have no immediate use but that I am unwilling to just throw away. I mean, I could still make some money out of those car parts that have been sitting in the garage for years, and who knows when I might need this old firewire card?!
Also, I’ve accumulated a lot of e-waste that I don’t want to just throw in the garbage, but I’ve been too lazy too bother taking it to a recycler.
I was more attached to this than probably anything else I’ve ever owned.
'68 Goldtop Les Paul
Android cell phones.
So far I’ve got a Motorola Droid 2 global, Moto Atrix 4G, HTC G1, HTC Inc2, Acer Liquid E, LG Optimus P500 and ZTE N762 (Public Mobile)
And other touchscreen Linux PDA’s like the nokia 770 and HP iPaq.
I’m like that a lot, with objects, even files on my PC. I just hoard stuff that in reality isn’t any use to me anymore
I’m rather attached to my Staff.
Not to the point where I Carry it everywhere I go, but I Keep it close.
I still can’t believe I sold my DS. I really wish I had it back, because there were some fun games for it that I had. That said, I do like the PSP I have now- Persona 3 on the go =D
I do this with pretty much everything I own, especially things that have been given to me.
More than anything I’d say I hold my alarm clock, my bed lamp, my potted ivy, my collection of hats, and my tea mugs in especially high regard.
Beyond that I have piles of old shirts, underwear and random trinkets in my old house just lying about never to be even seen.
That’s a real beauty right there, man.
Running shoes.
Good ones are hard to find, and once you get a nice pair and you’ve broken them in; nothing beats it. I had a pair of Nike’s that felt like heaven, and my mother thought they looked raggedy so she threw them away. Never had a better pair of shoes in my life.
EDIT: And also running shorts, those are truly the shit, and I still have a few pair from freshman year of high school.
N64 from my child days. I still play it from time to time, and I do my best to make sure it runs well. It’s still in pretty good condition.
Old, cheap video games that i found in the $5 at Office Max about 8 years ago.
“pocket lint”… can’t get rid of the stuff… wash the clothes, boom, it’s back again… we are inseperable! :fffuuu:
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
